In mid-February 2025, concerned readers flooded Snopes' inbox with questions about an alleged post from U.S. President Donald Trump and the official White House social media accounts that called Trump "the king" alongside an image of him wearing a crown.
"CONGESTION PRICING IS DEAD. Manhattan, and all of New York, is SAVED. LONG LIVE THE KING!" –President Donald J. Trump

The biggest problem with this military parade is the political nature which is pitting one side against the other INSTEAD OF EVERYBODY uniting to celebrate our military.
I'm extremely critical of the self serving interests in the military-industrial-political-media complex that serve as gatekeepers of propaganda to serve their ethics violating agenda.
However, the actual military, which consists of the dedicated, brave and patriotic men and women who serve our country with pride, dignity and valor can't get enough recognition.
Ww owe them a great deal and its impossible to OVER recognize their contributions. When the US has participated in one of their very unjustified wars or attempts to meddle in other countries affairs, these men and women have been used unfairly because of their loyalty to serve their superiors in endeavors based on a commitment to serve our country.
They are not to blame and in fact we should empathize with them even more when our corrupt politicians and others use and abuse them for their personal agendas.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uxc40NL-Y8 and if you watch this short video right here it will show this protests to be pushed and funded by the lunatic fringe left who will not hold illegals with court orders and detainers for 1 hour for ICE to pick up. This hypocrisy is not an 70/30 issue. Not an 80/20 issue. This is a 95'5 issue that these hypocrites are on the wrong side of and why these fake protests will fall flat except the damn illegal sanctuary cities are located. Almost funny that they do not realize the coincidence that these are the same cities the lunatic left abandoned and let burn just a couple years back. Madness at its most evil level right here.
Thanks, mcfarm!
Sad to see our country in the middle of a civil war!

"Tens of thousands"?
If that were 90,000 at 2,000 protests that would be 45 people/protest. I'm sure this was just a math error as the real number of Americans is likely at least an order of magnitude higher.
not so sure? Hell they cancelled that damn thing in Florida because "lack of interest"
Another great reporting job by our so fair and honest media. Local station in Indy searched and searched and found who to interview at the anti Trump rally? Well of course they came with a possible women with bright pink hair and a 20 year daughter. The mother was "fearful" for her daughter and worried Trump might killer her and hers. And to think if some crazed muslim was out beheading gays this mother would feel safer under Biden than Trump. This so typical of today's left. They have no chance after being indoctrinated for years and then pass it right along to their kids who then have chance either.

Thank, mcfarm and Larry!
This shows how extremely 1 sided the reporting is from both sides and people who disagree, go to their source to get news to strengthen what they want to believe and the rift between the 2 sides is more like the Grand Canyon.
Just some of my own points.
1. The No Kings Protests were huge in the blue states. Indianapolis, being in a red state was busy cheering for Trump's 25 million dollar military parade. Which actually INCREASED the numbers of the protesters in the blue states.
2. Comparing 2025 to 2017 is an unfair, apples to apple comparison. If you want to compare it to the big protesting year, we need to use 2020. In 2017, Trump was only president for the first time for 5 months. He hadn't had the chance to do much to upset people yet. People not only know him from his first term but also the 4 years between his terms with strong impressions that were not there yet at the start of his 2017 first term.
3. He was not being an authoritarian president, in 2017 like he is now so we can assume that part is brand new which is the biggest incentive to protest.
4. In 2020 the protesting was about George Floyd so that too is an unfair apples to apples comparison. Just the name and organization of the protests tells us the difference:
2020 George Floyd protests
2025 No Kings protests and Hands off protests(against Trump being an authoritarian president)
2017? Was there even a name?

Hey Mike,
Regardless of biases, which I recognize, I will say that based on my own judgement the amount of peaceful protests against the Trump admin are way higher than that against any other Pres in my memory. I’m sure that social media, which continues to have a greater influence, is a big enhancing factor.
For sure, Larry for sure!
I provided the list of different protests against Trump and its incredibly long!
To be honest, I thought that the protesting was going to get going like this a coupe of months ago.
It's nice to see that it seems like the vast, VAST majority of the protesting has been peaceful.
The civil rights protests were not against a president.
The Vietnam war protests on the other hand were targeting our government.
And the very most humorous thing about all these anti Trump "king" parades has to be when these libs go home and take a good look in the mirror. Who has the most closely related leaders as kings anyway? Lets see the libs have had a candidate for the what last 3 Pres campaigns who was selected not elected. A candidate this time who won just how many primary wins? Ohh that's right not a single primary she won. The libs had Pres {actually King} who was so absent they ruled by having a bunch of staffers making every Presidential decision. They had a Pres who was CEO of a crime family taking bribes from all over the world. Shall I go on about the royalty of the lib party which dates back to the Kennedys and further. Kings you say? The MSM is so tied to the lib party they will not even report on them, kind of sounds just like royalty doesn't it?
You want to protest royalty just look no further than the current lib party and their next likely candidate, the goof from Cal that thinks he is already royalty and never mentions the rule of law.
Welcome back, vandenplas!
Larry,
Vanderplas is permanently banned from Marketforum.
He received 7 pardons from Alex and 2 from me after repeatedly making personal attacks on his targets(1 in particular) and being suspended, then given another chance over and over.
However, this predator troll on Marketforum ran out of his 9 lives!
++++++++++++++
The only reason that Alex allowed him to keep coming back, as he told me is that "Vandy increases traffic which causes MarketForum to make more money"
Constant personal attacks/comments often started by him, then responses by the people he offended turned MarketForum posting into a bunch of childish, hateful bickering, especially over politics.
This was back in the days when MarketForum existed for Alex to make money from selling Google ads.... commercials/pop ups.
One good thing came out of it when Alex decided to create a new NTR forum to keep the traders coming.
I've not continued with the ads to make money, instead focusing using this site to be a source of definitive, fact checked and researched trading, weather and political information in a world of fake news, disinformation and propaganda. Additionally, positive ideas to make the world and our lives better.
And at the top, respectful discourse between all of us as we learn from each other and move forward.
Vandy, unfortunately is not capable of doing that. Nothing against him personally but his actions included trying to get posters here to boycott MarketForum(not come here) when I disagree with his behavior.
Every once in a while he tries to come back because he yearns for the pathological adrenaline rush that he got by "yanking chains" of posters like mcfarm that he targeted. His term, not mine.
Vandy intensely loathes President Trump but ironically, the way he treated some people here that disagreed with him(one in particular) reminds me exactly of how Trump treats others that disagree with him.
Behavior like this is what the protesting/objections are all about.

Don't think so MM. Many are protesting for cash. Many are protesting for TDS. Many are protesting because of the crazy left agenda. Many are protesting the election and the direction most Americans want the country to go. Many are protesting America because they want America to become much closer to a 3rd world country with open boarders with tons of drugs and criminals openly invading. Ohh sorry that was silly, of course they already are criminals when they break into out country.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MnRUBGqY9Y there are many many things they ought to be pretesting listed here
Thanks very much, mcfarm!
You mentioned numerous things but completely left out the actual reason for the protests.
We have a president attempting to practice authoritarianism instead of the democracy that our Constitution designed and what defines his legal powers as the president of the United States.
Not possibly. Not maybe. Not probably. Not even most likely.
But with certainty.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Authoritarianism
Authoritarianism is a political system characterized by the rejection of political plurality, the use of strong central power to preserve the political status quo, and reductions in democracy, separation of powers, civil liberties, and the rule of law.[1][2] Authoritarian regimes may be either autocratic or oligarchic and may be based upon the rule of a party or the military.[3][4] States that have a blurred boundary between democracy and authoritarianism have sometimes been characterized as "hybrid democracies", "hybrid regimes" or "competitive authoritarian" states

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autocracy
Governments may also blend elements of autocracy and democracy, forming a mixed type of regime sometimes referred to as anocracy, hybrid regime, or electoral autocracy.[1][2][3] The concept of autocracy has been recognized in political philosophy since ancient history.

Trump will miserably fail because our democracy, Constitution and people voting will reject him.
If the election were held today instead of last November, I feel certain that he would lose to anybody the Ds ran.
If the Rs were brilliant, open minded and had integrity(features that no politicians have-except maybe Rand Paul), they would impeach him ASAP because Trump is going to be the reason the Rs lose seats in the 2026 mid-terms and they will likely lose the White House in 2028.
However, the Ds have a knack of doing all the wrong things. So maybe not.
https://www.axios.com/2025/03/23/trump-courts-injunctions Authoritarian you say?
and here is the real kicker in black and white. "All Biden has to do is win the election and then he can disappear again" now you really want to talk authoritarian?
"authoritarian you say?"
Yes, that's exactly what I say he's acting like
Thanks mcfarm, I love you and times like this when your post is an opportunity for BOTH OF US TO LEARN SOMETHING.
Let's look at the injunctions from Trump's first term (from your link) when he wasn't being an authoritarian. 64 compared to Bidens 14.
This tells us that Trump had way more opposition, not necessarily a bad thing if his agenda is positive and he's doing REASONABLE things to accomplish that are mostly staying within the bounds of his presidential powers.
Now, let's look at Trump's litigation issues in just 5 months of his 2nd term. This is 10% of his entire term so at this rate, after his 2nd term he would have over 3,000 cases before the end of his 2nd term.
Compare that to the 1st term. This is a different President Trump!
Trump was NOT acting this way with his 1st term. He is clearly acting as an authoritarian leader that is continually violating the powers he has in the Constitution as president. Winning the elected gave him limited powers as the president. He has overstepped those powers many, many.........many times!
Litigation Tracker Includes:
So mcfarm, don't you see the huge difference in how Trump is using his powers this time?
I fully recognize that many of these injunctions are coming from liberal judges(as shown below). However, metmike is not a liberal/D(an independent) and anybody looking objectively at Trump 1 vs Trump 2 can clearly see the enormous difference in how he's using his presidential powers.
This article was just after 2 months.
Since returning to the White House on Jan. 20, President Donald Trump has unleashed a storm of executive orders, a great many of which have been halted or blocked—not by the now-Republican-controlled Congress, but by federal district courts. According to numbers compiled by the Harvard Law Review, U.S. district courts have issued more sweeping injunctions against Trump in the past two months than they have against three former presidents over their entire terms.
The Harvard Law Review’s tally (published in 2024) also noted the increased partisanship of the federal judiciary. Of the six injunctions imposed against Republican Bush, half came from judges appointed by Democrats and half from judges appointed by Republicans. Of the 12 injunctions imposed against Democrat Obama, seven (less than 60%) were issued by judges appointed by Republicans. Of the 64 injunctions Trump’s first Republican administration was slapped with, 92.2% were issued by judges appointed by Democrats. All—100%—of the 14 injunctions issued against Democrat Biden came from Republican-appointed judges.
Almost a year before Trump’s return to the White House, the Harvard Law Review also warned against the practice of “judge shopping,” essentially looking at the partisan leanings of various federal judges and bringing a complaint in a given district based on a judge’s presumed political leanings. During the first Trump administration, more injunctions were issued against the president by federal district court judges in deep-blue California than by judges in any other state.
Depending on who you ask, between 4 and 6 million people showed up – and according to one theory, this could be a turning point
