Of course, a “fear of nuclear annihilation” has nothing to do with Israel’s current strikes on Iran, which have been dutifully portrayed in the US media as targeting military and nuclear facilities but have somehow managed to slaughter hundreds of civilians. For instance, Iran is not the one currently funding a straight-up genocide to the tune of tens of billions of dollars.

Nor is Iran the one that has spent the past several decades bombing and otherwise antagonising folks in every corner of the world – from backing right-wing state terror in Latin America to conducting mass slaughter in Vietnam.

While Iran is supposedly  committing war crimes by responding to an unprovoked attack on their country by sending their wimpy missiles, half hazard into Israel, killing some civilians IN DEFENSE of unprovoked attacks on them.  Never mind the last 601 days in Gaza (and the West Bank) where the all powerful Israel military is intentionally killing many tens of thousands of  80% innocent people, mostly children and women and is perpetrating a horrific genocide on more than 2 million people. And 

And most of the people from Israel and US accept that as reasonable, including almost all the politicians that control the shipments of bombs and assistance to perpetrate these heinous war crimes.

Like Iran actually has a choice in this. When Israel stops, they HAVE TO STOP or get decimated more. 

This cease fire is basically Israel deciding to not decimate Iran anymore and Iran has to stop their wimpy response or Israel will decimate Iran more. 

Before Israel decided to bomb Iran, unprovoked.........guess what?  Iran wasn't bombing or attacking Israel. There was peace already. There didn't need to be a cease fire!

Trump bombing over the weekend didn't' cause the cease fire or peace. There was already peace before and until Israel interrupted the peace by violating international law with an unprovoked attack. 

For instance, when a big bully is relentlessly  beating the snot out of a little kid and the kid is just trying to get in a few shots to defend himself, the one sided fight ends when the bully stops beating the snot out of the poor kid.

The 2 big bullies in the Middle East, in this case, Israel and the US were beating the daylights out of Iran, completely unprovoked at the time.  The beating was only coming to an end after the enormous bullies, ganging up on the much weaker adversary decided to stop beating him up. 

Trumps bullying role was this: While Israel was beating the crap out of Iran, he jumped in because the other bully told him to and  like a coward, threw a bunch of sucker punches to a very weak opponent that couldn't fight back. 

Then told the beaten up opponent that if they try to fight back, the 2 bullies would resume the beating.

The so called "cease fire" is just the bullies telling us they are done beating the snot out of their much weaker opponent and they have no choice but to not fight back anymore.

It's been much worse in Gaza and the West Bank for the past 601 days, where the same bullies have been severely beating innocent people to their deaths as they OFFER NO RESISTANCE.

Actually, NO WE DON'T KNOW what happens. This has NEVER been done before. Most of the force of the explosions very likely went horizontal and upward, just based on the physics of explosion forces that cause the force to go to areas of LEAST resistance.

The area of far greatest resistance is straight down.  They have no idea how far down the forces needed to go and how far down this number of bombs would penetrate because its never been done before.

I would personally, wild guess that Iran must have been significantly set back from this bombing, maybe by a couple of years. Why that report came out earlier in the week that suggested otherwise is very odd. But this is a wild guess.

Here's the thing about this mission.

The military did a great job at what they were ordered to do. We have the best military personal in the world/best trained, best equipment and most powerful ammo. 

Regardless of the integrity of issues, which is on the person at the top making that decision they do THEIR JOBS without hesitation and to serve our country. 

However, in this case there was and is a tremendous amount of uncertainty about the extent  of damage done. It's surprising that such a report was issued so quickly and was probably leaked by somebody that has a problem with this bombing.  Not good. They should find and get rid of the source of the leak and that person should be prosecuted for a federal crime.

Now the worst part related to Trump's response AFTER the bombing that shows how horrible a leader that he is.

His description of the site being completely obliterated, before it was verified,  then ordering a cease fire immediately because of his massive ego....... put our military at a disadvantage in case they needed to go back to finish the job.

He couldn't and nobody could be certain on a never done before operation like this,  with this amount of bombs and a facility deeply buried under alot of rock and uncertainty of what was under there on how much damage was done.

Let's say that the bombing did major damage but  much of the equipment was buried much deeper than they thought????

With Trump immediately  insisting that everything was obliterated(before anybody knows) and there will be no more bombings to destroy the site and now we have a cease fire and now he's going to negotiate for peace as a final position.......... he totally messed up his option to do a 2nd bombing to finish the job in case the site WASN'T obliterated. 

As you know, I'm strongly against what Netanyahu is doing in the Middle East and his dragging in the United States into his wars but if we the mission is to destroy Iran's nuclear capability...........then we should make sure we give the best military in the world the best opportunity to FINISH the job they were given to do.

Trump just sabotaged any opportunity for them to FINISH the job in case they didn't really obliterate everything.

Just more evidence of his pee poor leadership that often features his impulsive, ego driven really dumb statements that undercut those that are smarter than him and better at their jobs than him. 

Ironically, his favorite criticism of others is that they aren't as smart as him(to boost his ego).

This week, for the first time in months, the United Nations was able to bring in some medical supplies into Gaza.

Troops describe firing at crowds of aid seekers

One soldier quoted in Haaretz says the army fires machine guns, grenade launchers and mortars at crowds — who pose no threat — while waiting for the distribution sites to open. The distribution sites are manned by U.S. contractors inside, in areas under Israeli military control. The soldier says there are no crowd-control measures, only gunfire being shot at crowds near these sites.

The response by Iran can't be immediate because they don't have the military to do that. However, make no mistake, when you surprise bomb a country with 90 million people, unprovoked and against International law exactly when you were telling them you wanted peace and were pretending to negotiate honestly YOU BECOME THEIR ENEMY!  You just betrayed them in the worst way and will NEVER BE TRUSTED. NEVER!

Regardless of what you read and hear, common sense tells us that what the US just did to Iran has just caused the US to be the mortal enemy of Iran............and justifiably this time!!!

One of the reasons that Trump and our politicians justified the bombing is because the people of  Iran chanted "death to America" in the past and that means they are a threat.

 Based on the very informative comments from my Iranian-American friend of 38 years and with all due respect, most of what you wrote above isn’t even close to what is occurring.

 The pro-mullahs/Ayatollah demonstrations in Tehran represent the views of only ~18 million of the ~92 million Iranians (20%). It’s the same 20% that have long supported them. Those pro-mullahs demonstrators actually are largely paid and/or pressured. If one listens to their words in their TV interviews like I’ve done, it would be evident that they’re largely brainwashed far right religious extremists who aren’t very intelligent. Some of them said things like “Iran was victorious/gave US/Israel a big punch in the face”, “death to America/Israel”, “we’ll do Jihad if the Supreme Leader asks us to”, etc. They sound like cultists. Every woman’s head is covered up.

 You’ll of course never see an openly anti-govt demonstration because they aren’t allowed. So, the 74 million who hate their govt won’t ever be seen publicly protesting.

 Women who don’t cover their heads in public can be arrested. However, many in the 80% group defy the ridiculous law and risk arrest. They don’t have nearly enough police to arrest most but some do get arrested. Some of them get beaten in jail. Due to a lack of enough jails, they do later get released. Many of these same women go right back to not covering their heads in public.

 This 80% loved the Israel and US attacks against Iran. Despite the innocents killed, they realize that to kill the evil leaders that some innocents are unfortunately killed. Millions of mainly young Iranians were willing to help the Mossad smuggle in wartime equipment. Most of them like Trump because his attitude gives them the best hope for regime change.

***Edit:  Just to make sure all here realize this, these 80% aren’t Arabs and many aren’t Muslims as they’re largely non-religious deeply cultural Persians.

 These US actions/support of Israel most certainly aren’t/won’t add anywhere near tens of millions to the “Death to America” club.

I  respectfully, very strongly disagree  on how the actual Iranians, living in Iran feel about their country getting surprise bombed, unprovoked by the United States to serve Israel,  when our president was posturing for peaceful negotiations.

 It doesn't matter what the ones living in the US think. THEY are Americans. Of course they will be against the repressive regime that is punishing their brothers and sisters and want that regime out at any cost. That makes complete sense.

How would you feel about a foreign adversary trying to remove Trump from office?

Or bombing our country in the middle of peace negotiations because another country that was our mortal enemy told them to do it?

However, if there were previous Americans living in that foreign country that hated Trump and their country took Trump out, they might rejoice.

The thing that clinches the negativity of how the people living in Iran feel about this is that they all know this was totally started by Israel and it was totally FOR ISRAEL. And the reason to justify it by Israel is that Iran is their mortal enemy and threat. When your mortal enemy, surprise bombs you unprovoked against international law, then the US joins in to help their mortal enemy, there is NO WAY the vast majority of people will not be outraged.

And only a small minority will think its a great thing because they don't like their current leadership but are ok with their mortal enemy bombing them unprovoked and killing 1,000 innocent people. 

And Iranians know that Israel's objective was not their objective. Israel and the United States did this to TAKE AWAY SOMETHING THE IRANIANS HAD. They bombed to take away Iran's speculative ability to obtain a weapon to defend itself if necessary. How many Iranians like the idea of weakening their own country's defense against a mortal enemy? 

And they would be good with the mortal enemy killing 1,000 innocent comrades, while suppressing their peaceful nuclear energy program for the mortal enemies agenda???

 I asked my Iranian American friend for his latest update and whether or not he agreed with the wording in the post that the above refers to make sure I had it correct from his perspective. I’m talking about my post with a time stamp of July 3rd at 10:51AM (the one with the “***Edit” at the end).

 He agreed with every bit of it except he felt I should modify the last line.

 Here’s the line:

 He said that I stated this portion accurately:

 However, he said that the % of Iranian Americans (IAs) who liked the US bombings on their nuclear facilities was closer to only ~50-50 split because many of them wanted Israel to do it instead of the US. The ~50% of IAs who didn’t want the US to do it was because Trump had already said he wanted to have talks. Thus he said this made Trump look unstable/unpredictable due to his inconsistency. These people also note that Trump backed out of the “Iran Nuclear Deal” during his 1st term. So, this ~50% of IAs was worried Trump’s word was no longer reliable regarding the nuclear issue.

 To repeat, however, 95% of IAs still wanted Israel to directly try to destroy those facilities. So, in essence, IAs are still nearly unanimous in wanting action taken against the mullahs. Support for them among IAs hasn’t increased at all.

 Also, I specifically asked him about the idea that the US bombing did this per your wording:

 He said that’s absolutely not the case. He said at most it would be only a few thousand Iranians converted to the “death to America” club. That’s how much they continue to hate the mullahs.

 He also reiterated that the vast majority of IAs still want regime change, and they prefer that be done by Trump. But many of them feel this should be done covertly (like via the CIA) rather than through actual troops. They want the Ayatollah to be killed.

Please pull full stop on regime change by the US in Iran. We can help in many ways but if the Iranian population want rid of the devils that run that country they must rise up and be rid of them.....only way that will work is rise up internally.

 My Iranian-American friend would, of course, love to see Iranians, themselves, successfully rise up to cause a regime change. The problem though is the lack of a strong opposition leader as of this time to lead this uprising.

 If the US were to get involved, he’d much rather they do it covertly rather than with troops like they did in Iraq.

 I should add that they don’t at all like the Shah’s son, who is well educated and lives in the US. They’d much prefer someone who wouldn’t be an autocrat. However, they’d still easily prefer him over the current regime. That’s how much they continue to hate the mullahs.
