It’s likely, that if this trend continues Trump will blame the Fed for not cutting interest rates instead of his tariffs. I’ve been screaming bloody murder about how his absurd tariffs will damage our economy by later this year and wrecking our long lived trading relationships and trust with our trading partners based on the principles of trading between countries with unequal income and GDP disparities.
And the damage to benefits ratio FOR BOTH SIDES is so extremely lopsided to the damage side that only somebody with pathological thinking, combined with a complete lack of comprehension of these basic principles, given way more power……WAY MORE POWER than 1 person should ever have (for this very reason) could get us in this much trouble.
We‘ve only just started to pay the price. I continue to insist that President Trump be impeached ASAP because he is completely broken and violating many principles that go well beyond just global trading relationships and how they impact economies.
The scariest thing is that an impeachment proceeding might trigger him to start a nuclear war with Russia as a survival tactic, similar to how psychopath Netanyahu, his idol has used the war in Gaza and Iran to survive his corruption charges.
Enough people in the US hate Russia that he would try to get us to unite with him against a common enemy and ignore the current differences based on things that he should be getting held accountable for.
He could only take this tactic so far in many realms but Congress and its R majority has capitulated and given Trump much of its power so the balance of power principles written into the Constitution have been extremely violated and disrupted by this authoritarian.
However, he could declare a war with Russia and is likely considering that right now as a political survival strategy, with personal and political benefits to D. Trump being the most important factor as it always is with him.
WE (MAGA-FOX NEWS) and Congress let him get this out of control(enabling and reinforcing the negatives of Donald Trump) and its created one of the most dangerous situations that our country has ever faced, here in 2025 for at least the rest of this year and likely longer.
Putin is no dummy and this could actually turn out with a positive because Putin knows Trump(has been playing him like a drum) and realizes that, unlike Biden(though cognitively impaired would never start a nuclear war) Trump WOULD PREFER A NUCLEAR WAR to losing his power.
Putin wants to push this as far as he can go and loose cannon, very unstable and unpredictable President Trump has gone from giving in to and enabling him to confronting him and the next step could be to provoke a war with him that could go nuclear as a political strategy to try to survive his collapsing world domestically.
Its not a matter of whether Trump would do this but a matter of how bad does it need to get for him TO DO IT.
Seriously, this could finally force Putin to the negotiating table and end the war...........with, ironically President Trump being the hero but with a potential humanity destroying, high stakes game of chicken.
Putin is also a ruthless psychopath that does not respect humanity and only cares about his agenda. So how far will he push it.
Putin is also a brilliant(but deranged) war strategist. He already has control of his domestic situation. However, a war that goes nuclear will mean that BOTH SIDES LOSE. He has clearly won this phase of the war and will keep going until he can't win anymore.
Another psychopath(Trump) leading the other side but even more desperate to survive, that cares more about that than the potential damage of a nuclear war to his side, could actually stop Putin.
Wouldn't it be ironic if that's how Putin is stopped!
Look for the war with Russia to suddenly gain MUCH more significance for Trump as he tries to deflect his increasing problems at home which are of his own doing and 100% self inflicted because of:
1. Nutso tariffs damage coming to roost(stock market topping)
2. 2+ decades as a serial predator of women and sometimes underage girls
3. A host of other ongoing battles that have greatly increased chaos, uncertainty, divisiveness and hatred for him. With his list of enemies growing domestically and around the world as well as ammunition for them to take him down. The MSM smells blood.
4. His fights and enemies, now include the WSJ and Rupert Murdoch that owns the WSJ and Fox News. You know its bad and he's desperate when he takes a completely losing position by every stretch of rational thinking by suing the owner of Fox News(the chief high priest in his MAGA cult) for $10,000,000,000 because he didn't like what they published about him at his WSJ. WOW! The walls are finally closing in which makes him extraordinarily dangerous right now.
5. There is no way out by just using his MAGA base, FOX news, control over the R Congress and authoritarianism with spin. He will need to take desperate measures.........like quickly dropping the tariffs and pretending to be making good agreements but even that is not going to stop the damage already incurred and which will play out later this year.
6. He WILL block any evidence about him in the Epstein files from seeing the light of day. He may be setting the stage for Maxwell to lie under oath(again) because he thinks she will vindicate him. This tactic is already backfiring as he treats a decades long, criminal predator running a sex trafficking ring of under age girls to preferential conditions that ease the discomforts of her sentence.
7. WAR WITH RUSSIA. This one is extremely high stakes but potentially, by far the realm that has the most potential benefits for President Trump. He has the vast majority of people/countries, even those against him on everything else.......ON HIS SIDE. Look for his actions to get much more aggressive to try to save his skin domestically.
Trump has just moved up his sanctions on Russia from 50 days to 10 days because he needs the conflict with Russia to escalate ASAP to rescue him from his domestic disasters in the making and to try to stop the bleeding at home.

This article above is pay walled but the title makes the point.
Since I can't read it either, maybe the author makes this point but the title doesn't. The response is more than just an impulsive reaction to mean tweets. Trump is the eternal schemer. \
In his mind, this not only diverts the attention away from Epstein-gate and tariffs-gate and low jobs numbers and a topping stock market but its the one thing that unites the most people with him FROM BOTH SIDES.

Comments on the article below: Regardless of this poll showing that Americans don't dislike Russia as much as during Biden's term(Maybe Trump helped that earlier this year??) it's still extremely lopsided to the unfavorable side with half of people considering Russia AN ENEMY.
There isn't a better suited realm for Trump to use(abuse) his power to deflect attention away from his scandals/deteriorating conditions at home that would genuinely united the majority of people from both sides behind him.
This is the man that surprise bombed Iran, against International Law in the middle of peace negotiations using the biggest (bunker busting) non nuclear bombs on the planet and a significant display and use of US military power that must have given his pathological, delusions of grandeur thinking the ultimate adrenaline rush and ego boost.
Afterwards, so many people and countries/sources congratulating him. Netanyahu (sensationalizing it for the media) and others nominating him for the Nobel Peace Prize that he wants so badly. Even as Ukraine and Pakistan withdrew their nomination.
This is what makes Trump tick at his core. This same psychological dynamic is potentially at play now with Russia but with a much different country and situation. There was very low risk in the Middle East. Any blow back might be in the form of an uptick in domestic terrorism or cyberattacks that remains mostly isolated.
In addition, PUTIN BETRAYED HIM AND EMBARRASSED HIM EARLIER THIS YEAR and up to now., Putin has been winning and President Trump has been losing the war in Ukraine.
There is no way that Trumps ego can accept that. Not when he sees himself as the omnipotent in control of the worlds most powerful army and most powerful country.
Think about how pathological that mindset must be to use his authoritarian powers to impose tariffs on.........THE ENTIRE WORLD! Then, he changes the tariffs based on whatever crazy logic he decides.
His tariffs on Brazil are to punish that country for not treating him pal fairly. His logic for tariffs on countries that trade with Russia are completely different than for his tariffs with a deranged logic to supposedly balance the trade between the richest country in the world and poor countries.
The next step is to ramp up the US involvement in this war between Ukraine and Russia!
