Before this decision, there had been no discussion about shutting it down for repairs. This decision was entirely made to avoid the huge embarrassment and consequences of another Donald Trump horrible decision.
It's likely, that he will now completely twist the facts and brag about how he's making the Trump-Kennedy Center the greatest there ever was and this is why he shut it down.
