I was chief meteorologist for WEHT in Evansville, In from 1982-1993 so this stuff is extra funny for me.
At the 19:49 mark, I saw somebody that I went to school with at The University of Michigan. Paul Gross who was meteorologist for WDIV in Detroit for 4 decades.
Less than 1 year after I got the job here at WEHT, Paul called me up at the station and asked if he could be my intern for the following Summer. He said that he could sleep on the floor in my apartment or on the couch.
Wow, I didn't know him that well. He called a couple of times trying to change my mind.
Turns out that he was destined for much bigger things in a bigger market.
When I got my seal of approval for broadcast television from the American Meteorological Society, I noticed that Paul was on the board that voted for me and later became the chairman.
