Note that there is no China above the Arctic circle. It's mostly Russia, then Canada(a NATO country, then Greenland(a NATO country) then the US(a NATO country) a distant 4th with a small amount of Northern European NATO countries, already on the west side of Russia.
If you add up the total CURRENT area of NATO countries, it's close to the same land area but MORE CONTROL of the Arctic than Russia. There are 360 degrees of longitude around the globe in the Northern Hemisphere, Arctic Circle. Russia has control of close to 160 degrees of this. NATO currently has control of close to 200 degrees, including the oceans.
We/NATO already have a big chunk in the Arctic on both sides of Russia and a more vast west to east control of the Arctic.
