Savannah Guthrie kidnapping

I'm not pretending to be an expert on kidnappings for ransom.

On critical thinking and a related topic, yes.

In this case, people that kidnap or do other things for ransom money do the exact opposite of this kidnapper.

They see it, sort of like a business transaction. They took something to get money. They take steps to minimize being caught and that includes doing it as quietly as possible. They deal directly with the family in a kidnapping. They might even tell the family to keep the cops out and they definitely don't want the media involved.

The more eyes on them, the greater the chance that somebody will know something that tips off the authorities and gets them busted.

This person(s) clearly is NOT thinking with that mentality. They actually sent the first ransom note to local tv stations.

THEY WANT ATTENTION!  They are deranged for sure and there's some sort of emotional, personal relationship (in their mind) connected to kidnapping this particular lady.

I was on television from 1982 to 1993. I had a stalker from late 1982 to early 1984. I could write half a book on all the incidents. I experienced 2 break ins. The first one, they took all my photo albums and dirty underwear in my laundry basket. The 2nd one, they burned my apartment down. I lost everything. The incompetent cops in Henderson, KY thought it was a big joke(the local meteorologist having a gay stalker)  until the apartment was burned down with the people upstairs almost dying. I came home to the fire at 2am and and woke them up. Long story.

Anyway, the point is when you are a tv celebrity, especially locally, deranged, pathologically thinking people that you never met,  form powerful,  1 way relationships with you that can make you a target.

This seems to be what might have happened this time. Some people assume it was somebody she know. That could be true but there's a good chance to that it's  a deranged viewer she didn't know but we have no evidence to support any assumptions.

And the deranged person IN THIS CASE, clearly wants  MAX attention drawn to this. It might very well be their entire objective. Observing the horrible suffering of this family could be their reward. Having this broadcast all day long around the country could be their reward. Having the president of the United States hijacking it for his personal agenda to make himself look good is rewarding them.

This is speculation based on authentic facts, critical thinking and being a tv celebrity that was targeted by a deranged viewer.

Much of that might be wrong.

Maybe it's much different than a deranged viewer that targeted this family as I speculated above.

Regardless, it makes 0 sense for this to be a kidnapper that only did it for the ransom money.

We still don't know a great deal but we DO know for sure that a person first contacted tv stations. That person had inside information that only they could know and they did NOT contact the family for ransom money.

It does not make sense for this to be a legit. kidnapping for ransom case.

Like many Americans right now, my wife and I are following the Nancy Guthrie kidnapping. We‘re horrified at this act and feel tremendous empathy for her poor family.

However, making it WORSE is Donald Trump, the person that has shown 0 empathy for others in his life, not even under aged girls in a sex trafficking ring…..hijacking this awful situation to try to make himself look good.

Just another of endless examples of his pathological mindset.

Donald Trump is exactly the WRONG person to be giving us constant updates here.

He is extremely unreliable, inconsistent, exaggerates/makes things up , driven entirely by self serving interests and not trained in law enforcement  protocol for messaging to the public in a very complicated case.
Some of the stuff that he’s stating could actually mess up the investigation and get this lady killed.

He absolutely should be leaving the statements to the authorities and the family and not opening  up his damaging big mouth to tell us Donald Trump, probably fake inside information about them getting close to solving the case which, if history plays out will turn out to be, just more self serving Donald Trump bs.

Too bad they don't spend nearly the resources to find much less important missing children and people that aren't the moms of tv celebrities!!!

Missing and Abducted Children

Missing and Abducted Children

Every 40 seconds, a child goes missing or is abducted in the United States. Approximately 840,000 children are reported missing each year and the F.B.I. estimates that between 85 and 90 percent of these are children. While most reports of missing or abducted children are resolved within hours, many involve situations where a child goes missing permanently or for an extended period of time.

Non-Family Abduction

Non-family abductions include kidnappings committed by acquaintances and strangers. Acquaintance abductions make up 27 percent of all child abductions and is committed by a disproportionally high number of juvenile offenders. Acquaintance abductions also have the highest number of female and teenage victims and is often associated with other crimes such as sexual and physical assault. Abductions committed by strangers typically occur in outdoor locations. Stranger abduction is most likely to involve a firearm when compared to the other types of abduction and is associated with sexual assault in female victims and robbery in male victims.

Leave it to incompetent, Kash Patel's highly trained buffoons to cause this problem.

They are best trained for:

1. Allegiance to Donald Trump

2. Blaming other people for their mistakes

Patel replaced almost everybody that doesn't abide by these Trump era standards.

He was at it again today. Using this case to get attention for Donald Trump!

Trump threatens kidnappers with death penalty if Nancy Guthrie isn’t returned alive in call with The Post

https://nypost.com/2026/02/16/us-news/trump-tells-the-post-he-wants-death-penalty-for-nancy-guthrie-kidnappers-if-she-isnt-returned-alive/

The president said the abductors would face “very, very severe — the most severe” federal consequences if Nancy Guthrie is found dead after being abducted from her home outside Tucson on Feb. 1.

President Trump has told The Post that he will instruct the DOJ to seek the death penalty for Nancy Guthrie’s kidnappers if she’s found dead.

+++++++++++++

1. The progressive dementia continues to worsen.

2. His ability to think about what comes out of his mouth is continuing to diminish from already low levels.

3. He is bragging about what he, Donald Trump the omnipotent will do to the kidnapper by ordering his DOJ to seek the death penalty. His delusional mind thinks people will be very  impressed and interpret it as meaning that Donald Trump is a strong leader instead of  what it really reveals.....an unhinged lunatic  with no guardrails as he attempts to rule as an authoritarian with impunity.

4. We can agree with him, however that he CONTROLS the DOJ and his hand picked minions that have pledged allegiance to Donald Trump and NOT the Constitution.

5. If they ever find this lady, look for Donald Trump to take some credit.

6. Just to spell out what Donald Trump is thinking here. He sees all this attention from every news organization devoted to covering this story with viewers and readers all wanting the same thing. Many tens of millions of people feeling empathy for this family. However, Donald Trump has never shown empathy to anybody in his life (not even the Epstein victims that he accused of perpetrating a hoax to get him). He is incapable of feeling that emotion. Instead, he is a master at exploiting victims and being an opportunist to take advantage of situations to make himself look great.

Donald Trump is inserting himself again,  exploiting this family to get attention to make himself look good(he thinks). This threat will have exactly 0.0000% chance of causing the kidnapper to suddenly decide "Oh boy, now that Donald Trump is warning me, I had better release Nancy Guthrie alive right now".

400 investigators working 24/7 for weeks now on this 1 case.

Think of how many missing persons they could have found, including kidnapped children by applying those same resources to many of hundreds of solvable but less important cases because those people are nobody’s that don't generate ratings or attention like a celebrity does.

Savannah Guthrie immediately wanted to offer $1M reward for mom Nancy — but she was told not to: sources

https://nypost.com/2026/02/24/us-news/savannah-guthrie-immediately-wanted-to-offer-1m-reward-for-mom-nancy-but-sheriff-told-her-not-to-sources/

+++++++++++++++

I've been critical about the massive resources used on this one case because its a famous person's mom and generating ratings.

However, it's impossible to not feel deep empathy for this family and know that if it was my mom or your mom, there wouldn't be an amount of resources and money spent to find her that is too much in our view.

I was impressed that this family had the awareness/recognition of exactly the topic of them being treated with enormous favoritism that is probably not sitting well with the tens of thousands of other family members with missing people NOT getting the same treatment.

Their very generous donation to help find other missing people/children will bring a unified mentality between them and that entire community. Helping to assist those families/law enforcement as well as to increase awareness.

Well done!
