Book Review: ‘Category Five’ examines superstorms amid compelling personal memoir

I just watched the author of this book being interviewed on CNN. WOW! Nothing but extreme exaggerations to convince us that there is a climate crisis and not one mention of the 10 times greater benefits TO LIFE including positive benefits to humans than negatives.

He saved this nugget to the end of the interview to leave viewers petrified. "Oceans will rise another 10 feet by 2100"

Now for the TRUTH:

Climate Change: Global Sea Level

https://www.climate.gov/news-features/understanding-climate/climate-change-global-sea-level

  • Global average sea level has risen 8–9 inches (21–24 centimeters) since 1880.
  • In 2023, global average sea level set a new record high—101.4 mm (3.99 inches) above 1993 levels.
  • The rate of global sea level rise is accelerating: it has more than doubled from 0.06 inches (1.4 millimeters) per year throughout most of the twentieth century to 0.14 inches (3.6 millimeters) per year from 2006–2015.
  • In many locations along the U.S. coastline, the rate of local sea level rise is greater than the global average due to land processes like erosion, oil and groundwater pumping, and subsidence.
    • High-tide flooding is now 300% to more than 900% more frequent than it was 50 years ago.
  • If we are able to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, U.S. sea level in 2100 is projected to be around 0.6 meters (2 feet) higher on average than it was in 2000.
  • On a pathway with high greenhouse gas emissions and rapid ice sheet collapse, models project that average sea level rise for the contiguous United States could be 2.2 meters (7.2 feet) by 2100 and 3.9 meters (13 feet) by 2150.

+++++++++++++++

The current rate of increase is 1.4 inches/DECADE. 2100 is 74 years away. Even if the rate increased a bit more, the rate would have to be 10 times higher than it is right now to reach 10 feet ON AVERAGE. Which means the last 37 years of that period, it would need to be almost 20 times the current rate............just using real world observations and basic math, projecting reasonably using honest math/science.

Oceans might increase as much as 2 more feet between now and 2100(high end). Anybody that sites higher numbers is presenting blatantly dishonest science. Using extreme model projections,  that can be programmed with hand picked mathematical equations is either DIShonest or its very IGNORANT science coming from a biased, untrained source.
