Nice PR stunt but it's pure theater.
We all got to watch the US hockey team, with the rest of the Olympic athletes competing well in recent weeks while playing their sports. They are some of the most gifted athletes in the world and the US finished in 2nd place in the medals.
We should be proud of their accomplishments and recognize them in a profound way. I'm ok with them being there tonight.
However, Donald Trump had exactly 0 impact on them winning the gold metal. The purpose of this State of the Union is for the president to talk about things that have nothing to do with hockey. The hockey team at this venue is more of a PR distraction with him trying to give everybody a sugar high from that while he uses their best in the world success to create a patriotic mentality which bleeds into his agenda.
The women's team turned down his offer, after they won the gold the previous day but he invited them as an afterthought AFTER inviting the men.
President Donald Trump invited the men's and women's hockey teams after both won gold medals in overtime games against Canada.

There are 1,000 times more important things than whether the US hockey teams are here tonight or not and its good for them and us to be proud and celebrate their hard work and well deserved gold metals regardless of any politics.
I'll have to admit that although Trump's manufactured realities and lies were about as expected(far worse than any other president giving this speech), he stuck to the script and program very well and it made for an excellent propaganda presentation with him keeping his cool and sounding pretty convincing to people who didn't realize he was lying so much.
Recognizing a dozen people with awards was an excellent idea.
His level of hate and viciousness was VERY subdued by Donald Trump standards.
This was much better than I expected.
There were different elements to this speech.
I think the presentation was a solid A grade based on whoever wrote the speech and set up recognition of numerous US hero's, intentionally spaced out throughout the entire speech which maintained the constant positive and patriotic feeling/tone that was effectively communicated. Great job there but of course this was theater and had nothing to do with his (failing) policies.
He greatly controlled his personal attacks. Yes, there were a couple of dozen aimed, especially at Ds, non citizens and even the Supreme Court but I have to give him a B grade on this because it took incredible discipline for Donald Trump to read almost everything from the script that another person wrote for him and minimize the comments that get him in the most trouble.............name calling, hateful and vicious attacks on anybody that disagrees with him.
On actual content, he gets an F grade. I could have created many dozens of Pinocchio cartoons featuring a different lie each time. The biggest shocker would have been for Donald Trump to tell the truth for 5 minutes straight,(on his agenda) let alone 2 hours.
For sure he SOUNDED convincing but only if you don't know more than him.
The truth matters the most by far to me!
What good is anybody in any field if they blatantly lie all the time. about everything?
Maybe the best personality to sell used cars but not lead our country and be the most powerful person on the planet.

-Lots of divisiveness Rs vs Ds. Can you believe he called all of the Dems “crazy”? No Pres before him ever did that.
-Lots of theater, which as usual was very well done as diversions at key times. Most love the US winning the men’s and women’s hockey gold, but spending 10 minutes on it was a nice diversion of sorts I thought.
-Nothing said about Epst survivors (no surprise)

Fox viewers and MAGA must think that all they need to do is keep saying it enough times to make it true.
The majority of people and very few people outside of MAGA agree with that.
That includes most of the world that has lost a tremendous amount of confidence in the United States because of 2 words……..DONALD TRUMP!

Donald Trump was a good boy last night because he read from a script all night and limited his speech to just stating blatant lies in a convincing fashion with the help of using American hero honoring and victim empathy theatrics intentionally spaced through the speech in an attempt to give his lies credibility.
Lie blatantly for XX minutes……..then show a hero. Lie blatantly for XX more minutes, then show a victim. Tell more lies for XX minutes, then show another hero.
It wasn’t coincidental but actually a technique used to brainwash people with propaganda.
Create a very favorable environment with credible people that represent authentic principles as hero’s or victims that we can connect with……then USE THEM TO SELL LIES!
It worked extremely well for people that did not know the actual facts and/or that wanted what Donald Trump lied about to be the truth.
The MAGA cult high priests at Fox last night were on Cloud 9, celebrating their leaders “greatest speech in his life”.
I agree that he did a good job delivering a speech written by somebody else, without the usual lunatic elements of a Trump speech based on his personal thoughts.
For once, he stayed disciplined and minimized the unhinged thinking and communicating that dominates his pathological functioning brain.
That was not an example of the REAL Donald Trump leading this country. He did put on a very good performance, choreographed by somebody who understands the concepts explained above.

Here's another extremely common way that people use lies to manipulate people and sell stuff.
Donald Trump and his minions use the truth to sell lies about his ICE agenda. He tells us about vicious crimes committed by illegal immigrants THAT REALLY HAPPENED, then uses that to convince us (that don't have the statistics) that illegal immigrants are mostly rapists, murderers and violent crime committing people that need to go ASAP. He used that on Tuesday Night.

The golden age of America is here, he said. Because of his leadership, what once was a dead country a year ago is now the hottest. Spirit is restored alongside a stacked military and police force. Unfortunately, Trump’s insolence toward immigrants, and Somalis in particular, was on brand, as was his trash-talking or scolding of detractors. After a year in office, Trump said he ended eight wars, virtually stopped drugs from entering the United States and prevented “illegal aliens” from voting. He continued the lie of voter fraud and election cheating. Trump’s lying is normalized and cruel.
