It looks as if the legs are slowly falling away on the impeachment thing

Trump says there was no quid pro quo

Trump has every right and in fact, by law, a responsibility to question corruption, the proper use of tax payer dollars, assistance etc. any place USA tax dollars may be spent. He has the responsibility to know if the money spent will be used properly, or if used for some other purpose, or if corruption exists or a whole long list of questions. It is not the job of an unelected govt official to try to subvert the decision of the president. The president also has a responsibility to with hold any assistance either money or other wise until he is satisfied the answers have been forth coming and accurately pass the smell test The unelected person has a right to his/her opinion but is expected to carry out his/her marching orders with out fail. Otherwise the whole process becomes a disaster

If a country is not doing  what the USA wants then the USA will impose penalties

A good example of penalties is Iran and their quest for nuclear arms ability. So the USA sanctions Iran

If assistance is asked for then a good example is the Ukraine. Every time the president has to make a decision, about assistance to another country he has to be satisfied the tax dollars are used properly, which usually includes a long list of questions.

Some or many polls have Trump at 50% approval while Obama, at the same time was 47%

The Democrats seem to be losing the most ground with independents as more information becomes available to the USA citizen

Once the DOJ starts criminal procedures, the citizens will have access to even more information. We may see the Dems fold their impeachment tent and hope to win the 2020 election, as they will have milked the issue of Ukraine for all it is worth and decide any more will only hurt their election hopes. Some Dems may be in a tough spot for re-election if the public see the impeachment process as a partisian effort. The voter can and will punish their representative if they don't like his record

JMHO.
