I looked at the state of NY and unlike MI, you can't draw a line across the state where north of that line, there is almost no covid. There are moderate pockets scattered in counties around the state of NY with other low count counties in between.
So he can't do what should be done in MI. This absolutely must be done to fine tune and maximize the benefits and minimize the damage of these historical shut downs. The 3 counties in Northern Michigan with the light red are just barely into that threshold.
In Michigan, residents in the south, especially the southeast. Wayne county in Detroit has 47% of all the cases in a state of 85 counties-the other 84 counties have 53%. The southern half has 98% of all the cases, the northern half has 2% of the cases.
Why this is not super, duper crystal clear is baffling.
54 cases for the entire Upper Peninsula of Michigan with 15 counties.
Wayne County in Detroit has 12,544 cases.
232 times more cases in just 1 county and if you dial in the "cases per county" ratio, Wayne county has
a rate that is 3,484 times greater than the rate for the 15 counties in the UP.
