Climate scientist “metmike”, who is the moderator of this forum, has repeatedly pointed out that the current global warming is a “climate optimum”, not a “climate emergency”.
He has also pointed out that global cooling would be a much bigger threat to mankind than global warming.
Right now, Texas is suffering from an extreme cold wave… an event that may have very well been triggered by a shift in airflow, caused by rising temperatures elsewhere. However, this temporary emergency shows us how unprepared we are for sudden climate changes in the other direction
Large swatches of Texas have now been without electricity for 5 days.. and the authorities say, it could be another month before being back to normal.
This means, your lights are off, your computer is dead, your cellphone cannot be charged. If you have an electric stove, you eat cold food.
Quite possibly, your local supermarket is closed, because their cash registers don’t work.
Whole hospitals in Texas had to be evacuated. Nuclear power plants had to be shut down, because they were not designed for cold weather.
I don’t know if gas stations can dispense gas without electricity.
40% of Texas oil and NG production is shut down.
Sure… I know… people in Russia and other regions in the far North are used to such conditions… but we (in the Southern states) are not.
Imagine what would happen if we had another ice age, like the one some 12,000 years ago. Where would we grow our food??? Billions of people would starve to death.
I feel sorry for the folks in Texas, and hope that they survive this current crisis....however, let’s be happy that we have global warming, and not global cooling… and send Greta Thunberg back to school.

It's been this cold before in TX, several decades ago. It gets this cold in northern states.
What in the world happened to Texas?
They got ate up by focusing on the wrong assumption using green power thinking and believing the fake climate crisis narrative.
This did at least 2 things.
1. It caused them to become too reliant on wind and solar power. Solar panels covered in snow don't generate much energy. Neither do wind turbines that freeze up.
2. They assumed that the weather wouldn't get cold like this anymore...........even though it happened numerous times in the past. Funny thing, is that many are wrongly blaming climate change for this extreme cold(as they do with every type of extreme weather that has happened before) but they were not prepared because of the climate change crisis warming mentality and predictions for milder Winters.
So, if climate change predicted this, then they should have been prepared.
Fact is, Winters have become slightly and gradually milder over the last 30 years. But one only has to look at weather history/records to know that extreme weather of all sorts, including cold and snow has always happened. You may go thru stretches of milder or colder or wetter or drier but weather..............is weather.
Only somebody totally ignoring the past, not understanding climate/weather and believing green energy schemes could have gotten caught with their pants down this badly.
That's alot of people too.
Sadly, they got burned almost this bad 10 years ago and had a 300+ page analysis/report with recommendations to prevent this...................AND IGNORED IT.

We will never come close to replacing fossil fuels with wind and solar for many decades. Maybe never.
I am totally for renewable/clean energy sources. But they MUST be reliable, viable and inexpensive. Hydrogen shows great promise.

We are setting ourselves up for catastrophic failure by relying too much on wind and solar.
Any objective thinking person using science/physics and common sense can see that clearly. Sadly, many of the ones in charge are using none of that.
They tell us that they are following the science..............yeah, a made up science based on computer simulations of the atmosphere going out 100 years, based on bad equations that more than double the actual amount of warming that takes place.
Then, they take worst case scenarios on extreme models, that have a 1% chance of happening and try to sell them as legit science.
To scare the sheet out of us.
Not to educate us or prepare us or to tell the truth. But entirely to scare the crap out of us so that they can impose the green political agenda with impunity.
The planet will be destroyed unless we do exactly as they tell us.
They supposedly have the key. They completely understand the climate...............the science was settled 15 years ago. Don't listen to dumb deniers like metmike showing you empirical data of the real planet and satellite studies showing it greening up by 20% and crop yields soaring higher and polar bear numbers increasing by 25%...........when they tell us that we are killing the planet.
Only believe them and the fake climate crisis based on simulations of the atmosphere and planet that have busted for over 3 decades.

The strange thing is that they have been saying this for over 30 years and it's not been happening for over 30 years..............but they keep saying it over and over and over. After awhile, people have been convinced to believe what they say, since the MSM and other gatekeepers control the entire narrative......even when all the catastrophic stuff has been completely wrong and the benefits to life have outweighed the negatives by a factor of 10 to 1.
Somehow, the same weather/climate that is going to obliterate all the good life...........humans, honey bees, polar bears, butterfly's, crops, etc.. will cause all the bad life to flourish...........roaches, ticks, mosquitoes, weeds, viruses, bacteria.

We've known for decades that politicians and used car salespeople and tv commercials will make stuff up to try to get you to believe things that are not true in order to reap self serving benefits.
But things have gotten out of control. Ethical standards for telling the truth don't matter anymore.
Then ends justifies the means.
In todays world, the ends...................is anything that you decide is important. The means.......is anything you can do to accomplish it.
The tools to use those means have been magnified by several orders of magnitude by the power of the internet and MSM.
In the right hands of users and sources with good intentions, they can be incredible education and enlightenment tools.
In the wrong hands, of those with self serving motives..........they can be profoundly powerful propaganda and brainwashing tools.
Trump and numerous sources that pushed the false narratives, brainwashed tens of millions of good folks that were convinced the election was stolen from him.
He's gone now but we are not hearing the end of it and those drawing attention to it, have to jazz up the facts..............turn it into a false narrative.......a bunch of racists rioting to obliterate the rights of minorities. ............instead of the truth......them being tricked into thinking the election was stolen.
Ironically, those drawing attention to this every day for over a month.............telling us over and over and over about a bunch of naive, evil people getting hoodwinked to believe something that is not true(election stolen by Biden) and telling us that they were protesting for racist reasons............are the same ones that actually believe that a climate optimum by all authentic scientific standards on the massively greening planet.................is a climate crisis. And they have been tricked for decades, with all the obvious facts to show it's not a climate crisis..............if they would just free their brains from the capture and do some critical thinking.

Answer: Both sides being tricked and having their intelligence stolen by gatekeepers of belief systems using false narratives, fake science and messages from opposite sides as they battle to control the world we live in.
The riots last Summer, with billions in property damage and great damage to human life from injuries and deaths. With COVID being spread and complete lies told that protests don't spread COVID to cover it up........many orders of magnitude worse than what happened at the capital..........was the quinnesstial example of the extremes of the other side............with the endorsement, instead of condemnation by the MSM in this case(because of their agenda).
