We are living in a manufactured reality where the science fiction of the fake realities are the sometimes the ones effectively sold to us as the reality, using the powerful tools of technology to capture minds.
Both political sides do it.
Sometimes just one side will be the main deceiver and the other side will fight back with authentic facts but both sides resort to vicious, personal attacks featuring a growing hatred for the other side and widening differences with a totally tribal environment.
Each side has its well defined tenets for their belief system that completely contrast with the other sides tenets. If you are a liberal, you MUST fall in line with all the tenets and vigorously reject everything from the other side.
Both sides are made up of tens of millions(and growing) zealots who
If you are on the right, you reject everything from the left.
It's a winner takes all, ends justifies the means and no middle ground mentality, with our politicians leading by example and notable MSM sources, often lining up completely with one side or the other.
Throw this dysfunctional frame of mind into the environment of social media, where people are just words on a screen and it exacerbates the extremes of disrespect, hatred, intolerance....resulting in subhuman behavior to each other.
And the social media thrives on this because it invigorates people with negative emotions and amplifies traffic. Peaceful, kind and trying to make the world a better place reads are boring compared to getting into a volatile confrontation with some dumb a-hole that is wrong about something and you need to teach them a verbal lesson with equally fiery words to fight back.
When YOU do it........its always justified..........because YOUR side is always right.
The politicians and MSM and other sources that you go to get the one sided news prove it to you every time you go there for your false narrative support fix.
The other side gets their news fix and its game on.
Many people choose sites with birds of a feather that are just echo chambers bouncing the same thoughts around inside of closed minds but others that have both sides can turn into a free for all and traffic spikes higher... this increases ratings and circulation for sources selling themselves with advertisements.
I was a main weather anchor for an ABC affiliate(WEHT-TV) from 1982-1993. We live or die by the ratings. You're NOT there to make them better citizens, though I think most tv station anchors sincerely have this objective.
On social media, it doesn't exist to make the world a better place. As it turns out, many of the sources and interactions are successful(in accomplishing their high traffic goals) because they apply tactics that make the world A WORSE PLACE..intentionally for their gain/profits.
It's like hell for the human beings fighting each other but heaven for those that benefit with profits and power.
The saddest part about this behavior is that the ones doing much of the fighting are the targets being used. They think that they are standing up for a just cause or ideology but the reality, is often what they think they know and are basing their position on..........is very flawed and its mostly propaganda and they are having their intelligence and integrity stolen and are violating their own ethical standards in order to fight for a manufactured position based on a fake reality to benefit powerful players using them as pawns.
Here is where to get the authentic realities about weather and climate.......the ones based on authentic facts, not from computer simulations of the fake atmosphere using subjective math, a speculative theory, computer models . With high end almost impossible solutions sold as being plausible to even likely and exaggerations of every weather event that more often than not, occurred previously but THIS TIME was from human caused climate change.

However, they are being anything but transparent..........hijacking climate science and rewriting climate history and faking a climate crisis is the complete opposite of being transparent...........even if it's for a wonderful cause.
And it's never right to steal people's intelligence about science by feeding them propaganda and dumbing them down with an "ends justifies the means mentality".
It just so happens that the field of science that they've stolen is my profession so it's personal too.
Regardless, outside of making people stupid about weather/climate, at least its for a good cause that I would have agreed with, if they would have just been upfront and honest!

The stark reality is that we need fossil fuels and we wouldn’t have most of the wonderful technologies without them.
There isn’t anything that can cheaply or reliably replace them.
The real green energy is fossil fuels. The planet is massively greening up, not in spite of but because of increasing beneficial CO2 and the best weather and climate in 1,000 years....the last time it was this warm.

one of the world's largest captured brains was full display during a Hugh Hewitt interview with non other than The St Anthony Fauci. He came down from on high to dare mingle with the common folk for a bit. When presented scientific data that showed both he and Biden are one of the reason that vaxx rates are low and asked a simple question.....Will you resign if shown that you are an impediment to vaxx rates. Well just minute Hugh, before the last part of the question was asked the great and noble Fauci had already said no twice. But you are a scientist who goes by the data again Hewitt asked. I simply do not believe the data says Fauci. Well where have we heard that before??? You do realize the black community is only 28% vaxxed right?

The rates for blacks getting vaccinated from all 50 states is from 28% in SD to 87% in OR. On average the rates are almost 10% lower for blacks but the lowest rate for all the states is 28%.............SD and it's in a state with a black population of just 2%, compared to the US where blacks are 14%.
This is another example of the blatant dishonesty being displayed by the far right, in this case, by far the biggest cult high priest of them all, FOX news.
Taking the state with the lowest vaccination rates for blacks(28%) , where only 2% of the population is black and tricking people into thinking that represents the rate for the entire country!

That's what cherry picking is by definition. You find an anomaly/outlier in the data that shows something that you want to show........and disingenuously use it to mislead people into believing that it represents objective data as a metric reflecting accuracy for that entire realm.

Let me ask you mcfarm, when FOX stated that only 28% of blacks have been vaccinated, how many did what I just did above to fact check them?

2 reasons.
1. I'm extremely familiar with COVID and COVID vaccinations data/facts and when this was stated, my first thought was......"what the heck! that makes no sense, I'd better check on that!"
2. It's about COVID/the vaccine and it came from FOX. They have been blatantly lying about those topics every evening that I tuned in last month. I'm just telling you an objective fact. I totally understand why people think what they do. Very bad, lying sources using DISinformation for their political agenda and self serving objectives.

This actually is well beyond the Trump Derangement syndrome that at least was often based on some realities and facts. They distorted and exaggerated those facts but at least there was a grain of truth much of the time with TDS.
With FDS, what Tucker spent much of his time on was actually the complete opposite of the truth and the total opposite of authentic science. I thought TDS could not be exceeded for the intensity of hatred and DISinformation but here, just a year later Tucker has easily topped it by almost an order of magnitude on the fraudulence scale.
There are performances based purely on science fiction that have much more truth to them than Tuckers lies about Fauci last night.

While Veritas might have the right idea in some cases, they are often more dishonest than the groups they investigate, as they use entrapment, deception and chicanery to set up entities that are ALWAYS on the opposite political isle, never far right groups.
This tells us how biased they are.
