Those other countries are already part of NATO. His attack on Ukraine is all about preventing them from becoming part of NATO.

Putin is fighting NATO for Ukraine right now. Not possibly or theoretically. Ukraine was on a fast track to join NATO. Look who's helping Ukraine right now........NATO! The entire war is all about that. The US is the most powerful part of NATO fighting Russia for Ukraine right now.
The war would have been avoided if Ukraine agreed to NOT join NATO. That's it, man. I think that Ukraine should have been able to join NATO but when the choice was this, that was inevitable and 1 million times worse than the right to join NATO, only retarded thinking and diabolical political propaganda would justify this choice.
There was a choice that would have resulted in no Ukraine war but it meant no NATO for Ukraine. People stating otherwise are either lying or repeating a lie they read and believe from propaganda..........which is almost everything we read in the US.

Nobody anywhere is FOR a war, if you are getting what you want.
NATO wants Ukraine and they are FOR A WAR with Russia so that Ukraine can join NATO.
People in the NATO countries are being tricked with propaganda to think that they are against war and Putin is for war but if they support NATO, then they are FOR THIS WAR over Ukraine.
Of course Putin started it, is diabolical to go this far to prevent NATO from taking over Ukraine(which would greatly increase the chance for Russia's demise down the road) but NATO is for this war too.
If they weren't making substantive moves to fast track Ukraine into NATO, NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED.

There were many THOUSANDS of these balloons like that for research and other things in the last decade. Not theoretically but a fact.
The only thing more embarrassing than the Chinese balloon incident was shooting down the other 3 balloons. That was complete buffoonery based on people not understanding high altitude balloons and trying to exploit peoples ignorance by making it appear as if we are suddenly capable of protecting our skies from invasions to offset the impression from the previous week.
That was the quintessential example of a dishonest government wasting many millions of dollars to bamboozle Americans, while acting like complete idiots.
The horrific judgment calls with all 4 balloons is a reality check about the ability of this administration to use good judgment to make the best decisions for the American people.
What they proved is that all they care about is MANIPULATING the American people into thinking they're competent...........by displaying real world actions that indicate they are incompetent.

If the US is tied up fighting a losing war in Russia, it greatly improves Chinas odds in Taiwan.
And watching NATO try to acquire Ukraine is extremely telling about NATO and what they are capable of. This only makes Chinas desire to have Taiwan greater.
We keep hearing the propaganda that now that China sees whats happening in Ukraine, that he will never dare try to do the same thing with Taiwan.
The relationship is much different with those 2 countries and I see it the opposite way.
