12% increase in distracted driver ~ pedestrians killed rose 13% ~ cyclist fatalities up 2% ~ unbelted passengers killed rose 8.1% ~ alcohol-impaired up 14% ~ Speeding-related deaths increased 7.9% ~ crash deaths involving large trucks weighing over 10,000 pounds were up 17%,

THAT CERTAINLY DOESN'T TELL THE WHOLE STORY. THERE ARE LOTS OF DIFFERENT SCENARIOS TO CONSIDER. WHAT ARE THE STATS FOR DRUG IMPAIRMENT?  YES, ALCOHOL IS A DRUG, BUT... DRUGS ARE NOT ALCOHOL. WERE THE TRUCKERS DISTRACTED, DRUNK, STONED OR SOBER?

TRUCKERS & ALCOHOL RELATED, WERE THE TWO BIGGEST INCREASES.
