Ever watched TV news or a talk show and been concerned with how much the country has changed? A recent poll conducted by a national polling firm, "YouGov” questioned typical people on the street. The averaged answers are listed below.

What percentage of the country is black? Answers 41%. Actual 12%.
If you watch commercials, you will think it is 90%.

What percentage of marriages are mixed race? Answer 50%...Actual 1%
If you watch commercials, you will think it is 90%.

What percentage is "Latino"? Answers 39%... Actual numbers 17%.

How many families make over $500,000 a year? Answers 26%... Actual figure 1%.
We think a quarter of the country is rich.

What percent of Americans are vegetarians? Response? 30%… Actual 5%.

What percent of Americans live in NY city? Answers? 30%... Actual 3%.

What percentage of Americans are 'transgender? 22%... Actual number 1%

What percentage of your fellow citizens are Gay? Result? 30%... Actual 3%.

*******
So why do people have such inaccurate thoughts on these counts?
THE MEDIA!

The media run race, gender, and wealth stories constantly. What is the result?

We are being brainwashed by the media. Hitler’s propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels would be proud if he had half this success.

Disney just went full-on "gender". They will no longer welcome guests with the traditional "Welcome ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls" Why? Because 1% of the population dictates to the other 99% (that would be the vast majority) and corporate America falls for it.

Regardless of what you think, less than 20% of Americans use "Twitter" yet Twitter controls 80% of public opinion. Why? The media.

Next time you are thinking Americans have changed and not in a good way, remember, it's fake. Most people think just like you do, but the media has brainwashed Americans with their constantly misleading WOKE broadcasts.

Watching commercials or not, folks thinking 50% of marriages are mixed race, 26% of families make >$500k, and especially that 22% are transgender and extra especially that 30% of Americans live in NYC are really ignorant in the first place. I'm sorry but watching commercials/media is no excuse for this extreme level of ignorance. I understand the point you're trying to communicate (certain groups are probably somewhat over represented in commercials), but so what? Is that hurting anyone? Why does that matter? Did you feel the same way when whites used to be overrepresented? And it is ridiculous for someone to think that 22% are transgender or 30% live in NYC. If watching commercials/media cause that, those folks thinking that should be blamed for being really, really dumb.

WX  This has nothing to do with blacks in commercials its the fact they are overly represented to appease the woke crowd. Think back it started with Jake from State Farm when the wife catches him on the phone with Jake from State Farm at three in the morning. Now Jake was a white guy . Now all of a sudden he changed to black. Tell me it wasn't done to appease  the woke crowd. If he had been black from the first place it would have been fine. Just one of several examples of how ridiculous this has become.

Here's the study:

From millionaires to Muslims, small subgroups of the population seem much larger to many Americans

https://today.yougov.com/topics/politics/articles-reports/2022/03/15/americans-misestimate-small-subgroups-population

When it comes to estimating the size of demographic groups, Americans rarely get it right. In two recent YouGov polls, we asked respondents to guess the percentage (ranging from 0% to 100%) of American adults who are members of 43 different groups, including racial and religious groups, as well as other less frequently studied groups, such as pet owners and those who are left-handed.

When people’s average perceptions of group sizes are compared to actual population estimates, an intriguing pattern emerges: Americans tend to vastly overestimate the size of minority groups. This holds for sexual minorities, including the proportion of gays and lesbians (estimate: 30%, true: 3%), bisexuals (estimate: 29%, true: 4%), and people who are transgender (estimate: 21%, true: 0.6%).

It also applies to religious minorities, such as Muslim Americans (estimate: 27%, true: 1%) and Jewish Americans (estimate: 30%, true: 2%). And we find the same sorts of overestimates for racial and ethnic minorities, such as Native Americans (estimate: 27%, true: 1%), Asian Americans (estimate: 29%, true: 6%), and Black Americans (estimate: 41%, true: 12%).

I smell a rat.   Larry questions this too.

.

Individuals could very well believe this but it seems impossible to believe that the majority of Americans,  represented by their numbers thinks this way.  YouGov America must have done something(s) to distort the sampling or results.

Only they know what they did, so we can never prove it. Either that or Americans are brainwashed so badly that they don't understand anything anymore.  With them being convinced that the current climate optimum for life is a climate crisis being caused by the beneficial gas, CO2 (the building block for life) that's greening up the planet and massively increasing food production.

For the first time in history, in 2016, both presidential candidates that ran against each other had a higher UNfavorable rating vs favorable.

The winner was NOT the other person. That's how people decided to vote. They disliked Trump less than they disliked Clinton.

In 2020, it was even worse.

2024 is coming up and since then both men  have profoundly  disqualified themselves from running by their behavior and performance. And this qualifies them to be the leading candidates for 2024 by a very wide margin???

We've reached the point of no return! Manufactured realities define our world!

We are living in a world that mimics the story line in George Orwell's book, 1984!

I didn't realize that Jake was originally white and that he was recast as a black guy. I see your point that it suspiciously looks like it was done to appease. But consider this possibility: maybe the white actor had enough and didn't renew his contract. They had to find someone else. Since Jake was fictitious, the next actor playing him didn't have to be white. They did a casting call and perhaps liked the black actor the most on his own merits that had nothing to do with his being black. Isn't that possible? Just being devil's advocate.

Larry,

I applaud you on your open mindedness and agree with everything......almost.

On the Jake replacement, however it seems clear that they replaced the old Jake, who was extremely popular and had a big following with a new "more inclusive" Jake because of complaints from the faction of people who decided the original Jake and the original comments were too much of a mainstream white male, heterosexual brand.

The new guy is a professional actor and State Farm claims they needed a professional actor to replace the guy that actually works at State Farm and was extremely popular.

I don't buy it. Like they would admit the real reason.

Here's more from a possibly biased source that at least seems to have done the intensive investigation to bring us the authentic facts and who's interpretation that I agree with.

This is not the media, however even though it's on TV.  This is corporate America USING television to sell stuff to viewers.

Why ‘Jake from State Farm’ Had to be Re-Cast

Have you noticed the changes being made to commercials lately?

metmike: This is an extremely valid point, that corporate America has become increasingly woke. Here's more from clearly biased sources with great points, facts.

How Corporate America Got Woke: A Review of 'The Dictatorship of Woke Capital'

In his new book "The Dictatorship of Woke Capital," Steve Soukup explores the rise of progressivism as a cultural force and explains why corporations increasingly are taking sides in politics.

Corporate Wokeism Drives a Wedge Between America's C-Suite and Customers | Opinion

https://www.newsweek.com/corporate-wokeism-drives-wedge-between-americas-c-suite-customers-opinion-1665462

The issue with corporate executives engaging on social issues boils down to authenticity. A majority of corporate executives polled in this survey (57 percent) believe when they speak out on social issues, it's because they "want to achieve real change." But a majority of voters (61 percent) believe it's because these corporate executives want to "look better to consumers."

A similar disconnect emerged when corporate executives and customers were asked about the true motives behind companies displaying a rainbow flag during Pride month or advocating for diversity in the workplace. Most customers simply assume these are corporate marketing tactics, not sincere outreach efforts or a statement of real values. Such virtue signaling isn't perceived as authentic and actually damages brands' reputations.

Mike Davis is the founder and president of Unsilenced Majority, an organization dedicated to opposing cancel culture and fighting back against the woke mob and their enablers. Davis has served in all three branches of the federal government, including most recently as chief nominations counsel for the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Bud Light's transgender pandering was a predictable mistake

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/bud-lights-transgender-pandering-was-a-predictable-mistake

Even if the backlash from Bud Light’s actual customer base fades over the coming months, it is clear that the company accomplished nothing other than hurting its own brand, all because its marketing department was deluded into thinking that social media is just like real life.

Back to the original point about this country.

After making tremendous, continuous progress in civil rights for decades after the 1960's and super tremendous progress in cleaning up legit pollution/the environment with the numerous clean air and clean water acts and other pollution fighting laws.........those fields are being used  as weapons for political agenda by nefarious and even some diabolical entities.

This is a huge element of the increasing political divide in this country.

The other side, in pushing back creates it own bs causes to unite them against the other.  There is no middle ground.

Internet, tv and government sources tell people what they want to hear and because they come there, they can tell them what to think to push their political agenda...........which defines THEIR relative truths based on manufactured realities.

If you decide to actually tell the AUTHENTIC truth ALL the time..........you end up like MarketForum, an ANTI echo chamber that ticks off half the people half the time and  the other half the rest of the time by confronting lies from both sides.

Nobody wants to be told what they believe in is bs..........any of the time.  There are countless echo chambers which provide Nirvana News 24 hours a day to people that want to live in ignorant bliss.

However, back to the original message:

America is gradually sliding into massive chaos with no possible solution to bring the extreme oppositional  forces together.  The gap is widening and costs are growing. This is more than a domestic thing too.

It's taking a great toll outside of America.

Sad to know that America's greatness has topped out and is accelerating downwards.

Before the end of this decade, China will be the undisputed top global economic power and the US dollar will no longer have the franchise as the biggest traded global currency.
