But that's exactly what he/the NAACP are doing with this nonsensical travel warning!

Exactly what President Biden did earlier this month when giving the worst commencement speech I've heard in my life :

The NAACP, in the past, was responsible for profound progress in the civil rights movement!

This clearly shows that the NAACP in 2023 is no longer about improving race relations or focused on helping minorities.

This latest absurd travel warning using race for politics only DAMAGES race relations.  Coming from an institution like the NAACP with itam wonderful history is very saddening. They've become mostly political and self serving and in fact, are fighting causes that make the world WORSE for minorities.

Environmental justice

The environmental justice group at NAACP has 11 full-time staff members. In April 2019, the NAACP published a report outlining the tactics used by the fossil fuel industry. The report claims that "Fossil fuel companies target the NAACP for manipulation and co-optation."[82] The NAACP has been concerned about the influence of utilities which have contributed massive amounts of money to NAACP chapters in return for chapter support of non-environmentally friendly goals of utilities. In response, the NAACP has been working with its chapters to encourage them to support environmentally sound policies

This is the complete opposite of the truth!  Cheap, reliable, abundant fossil fuels have lifted billions of people in the world out of poverty.

Fossil Fuel Dragged Us Out of Poverty & Delivers Prosperity For Everyone, Every Day

https://stopthesethings.com/2022/10/03/fossil-fuel-dragged-us-out-of-poverty-delivers-prosperity-for-everyone-every-day/

Fossil fuel is the catalyst for modernity: coal, then oil and gas, have driven the mechanization and industrialisation responsible for lifting billions out of agrarian poverty, and all in the space of little more than a century.

A reliable supply of electricity allows the impoverished to escape the daily drudgery and misery of a life without it.

The New York Times bestselling author of The Moral Case for Fossil Fuels draws on the latest data and new insights to challenge everything you thought you knew about the future of energy

For over a decade, philosopher and energy expert Alex Epstein has predicted that any negative impacts of fossil fuel use on our climate will be outweighed by the unique benefits of fossil fuels to human flourishing--including their unrivaled ability to provide low-cost, reliable energy to billions of people around the world, especially the world’s poorest people.

And contrary to what we hear from media “experts” about today’s “renewable revolution” and “climate emergency,” reality has proven Epstein right:

  • Fact: Fossil fuels are still the dominant source of energy around the world, and growing fast—while much-hyped renewables are causing skyrocketing electricity prices and increased blackouts.
  • Fact: Fossil-fueled development has brought global poverty to an all-time low.
  • Fact: While fossil fuels have contributed to the 1 degree of warming in the last 170 years, climate-related deaths are at all-time lows thanks to fossil-fueled development.

What does the future hold? In Fossil Future, Epstein, applying his distinctive “human flourishing framework” to the latest evidence, comes to the shocking conclusion that the benefits of fossil fuels will continue to far outweigh their side effects—including climate impacts—for generations to come. The path to global human flourishing, Epstein argues, is a combination of using more fossil fuels, getting better at “climate mastery,” and establishing “energy freedom” policies that allow nuclear and other truly promising alternatives to reach their full long-term potential.

Today’s pervasive claims of imminent climate catastrophe and imminent renewable energy dominance, Epstein shows, are based on what he calls the “anti-impact framework”—a set of faulty methods, false assumptions, and anti-human values that have caused the media’s designated experts to make wildly wrong predictions about fossil fuels, climate, and renewables for the last fifty years. Deeply researched and wide-ranging, this book will cause you to rethink everything you thought you knew about the future of our energy use, our environment, and our climate.

The NAACP has been hijacked by the fake climate crisis movement and they are actively campaigning to significantly hurt the poor/minorities, which are negatively impacted the most by the indisputable higher cost of fake green energy replacing cheap fossil fuels.

The NAACP has been hijacked by the Woke Cult!

As somebody that grew up a democrat in Detroit and raised with a mentality of helping the poor and minorities from early in  our youth, this is very sad to see. You will note in the thread above, my sister that adopted a couple of Aids orphans from Kenya. That sort of action, is a great example of what type of person that she is.........and represents our family in the best way possible when it comes to this issue.

NAACP Elects New President, Will Assume More Political Non-Profit Tax Status

The NAACP — which at 108 years old must balance both its storied legacy as the nation's oldest civil rights group and the potential for irrelevance amid a fresh wave of racial justice groups born of social media such as Black Lives Matter — decided to shake things up a bit on Saturday.

The organization announced its new president and CEO and its intention to alter its tax status to a non-profit category that permits more aggressive political lobbying.

What does it mean to be woke? Local NAACP leaders talk about the word's politicization

https://www.tcpalm.com/story/news/local/2022/12/22/what-is-woke-meaning-naacp-leaders-talk-about-the-word-martin-st-lucie-indian-river-treasure-coast/8091099001/

What does “woke” mean to you?

From its 1923 origins in the Black community to today’s co-optation for various political agendas, the definition of the word has evolved and come to mean different things to different people.

But the word “woke” became politicized, and threatened conservative white people when liberal white people — namely younger, progressive kids — began using it in the Black Lives Matter movement, said Anthony Brown, the NAACP Indian River County chapter president.

"As long as the white mainstream does not absorb it and grasp it, there is no threat," Brown said. "Once young white children started to understand and see it in its reality it then became valuable, which caused it to be a threat."

1965: The Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. said in an Oberlin College commencement speech: “There is nothing more tragic than to sleep through a revolution. … The great challenge facing every individual graduating today is to remain awake.”

++++++++++++++++++++++

Trying to connect the current Woke movement to the great MLK. This current movement is COUNTER productive for race relations and progress for minorities in this country. The Woke agenda, is more focused on socialism and eliminating the best thing that ever happened to poor blacks and whites.......cheap energy from fossil fuels lifting them out of poverty.
