Christie knocked it out of the park last night. The man tells it like it is, something I haven't seen out of any of the candidates, including Joe Biden. As Americans who are concerned about our county's integrity and character, we should put a stop to this nonsense that is going on in politics today, and elect someone like Christie to do it.
Finally as Republicans, we have a candidate who represents the party of which I have been a member since 1964.
Christie is someone as of now whom I could see possibly voting for in the GOP primary and in the election. He's currently got virtually no connection to the insanity that is so predominant in much of the party and is pretty much running as a right of center moderate overall.
I like this guy a great deal!
Him being anti Trump (pro truth) makes it seem impossible for him to get the nomination because the FAR right Trumpers control the R party.
In the general election, I feel he would likely get the most independant and cross over votes and thus, the MOST votes and be the best chance for the Rs to win in 2024.
After reading this, you can't help but like this guy even more.
The former New Jersey governor will try to regain the sense of presidential inevitability that surrounded him 10 years ago.

An 'angry' Trump: What Chris Christie thinks about a second Trump term
https://www.cnn.com/2023/06/12/politics/chris-christie-cnn-town-hall-takeaways/index.html
On the FBI document charges:
Third, he said, was the simple fact that Trump is “voluntarily putting our country through this” – a reference to the fact that Trump was repeatedly asked by the government to return the sensitive documents long before the issue escalated to a legal matter.
“This is all (Trump) saying … ‘I’m more important than the country,’” Christie said.
Christie also slammed the other GOP primary candidates for either hedging or taking Trump’s side by attacking the Justice Department.
“They’re playing political games with you,” Christie told the audience, arguing that his rivals were trying to stay close to Trump now in hopes of being able to compete for his supporters should he be forced out of the race.

This tidbit below is nonsense from CNN as they falsely present themselves as authoritative fact checkers but instead, use DISinformation/propaganda to mislead about the truth from Christie. The Mueller investigation was blatantly corrupted from the very start to the end as shown here for years based entirely on authentic facts:

Christie spoke about Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and the topic of Russian collusion.
“I was involved in that campaign in 2016 with Donald Trump,” Christie said. “Let me tell you something. I can guarantee you there was no colluding going on. They were trying to figure out how to get from New York to Wisconsin. …Colluding with the Russians was the last thing they were thinking about.”
Facts First:Christie only told half the story. It’s true that special counsel Robert Mueller never accused any Trump campaign associates of conspiring with Russian officials. But Mueller found dozens of secret contacts between Trump aides and Russian agents, several attempts to coordinate, and that Trump’s team was “receptive” to some offers.
In his report, Mueller said: “The investigation established multiple links between Trump Campaign officials and individuals tied to the Russian government. Those links included Russian offers of assistance to the Campaign. In some instances, the Campaign was receptive to the offer, while in other instances the Campaign officials shied away.”
For instance, at the infamous Trump Tower meeting in June 2016, two Trump family members and his campaign chairman tried to get damaging information about Hillary Clinton from a Kremlin-linked Russian lawyer.
Paul Manafort, the campaign chairman, repeatedly sent internal Trump campaign data to a Russian spy, who passed it along to Russian intelligence agencies, according to several US government reports.
Lower-level Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos learned about Russia’s willingness to help Trump win, and he tried to set up meetings between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
These Trump-Russia connections were troubling, but not illegal, according to Mueller.

Metmike:
Thanks for the insightful article about Christie. Now I like him even more.
I USED TO REALLY LIKE HIM. (NOTE THE WORDS "USED TO"... AND, IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH TRUMP!)
Jean,
Care to elaborate.
Your huge thing is honesty. Mine too. This guy is as honest as they come. What changed your mind on Christie?
bet it had something to do with that bridge fiasco. Remember well Christie stuttering and stammering with foolish lies about what happened there. Been a lot better to tell the truth and get it over with instead of trying to Clintonize the whole thing
✔ MCFARM ~ PLUS ____ & __________ & _________ ETC.
HE BELONGS IN THE LEFT COLUMN = LEFT OUT
I still am not even in the vicinity of the ball park of understanding what you have against this guy and have given you a couple of opportunities to explain it because I sincerely WANT to understand it........so its not my lack of comprehension here.
Give it another try if you want since this is a cop out:
✔ MCFARM ~ PLUS ____ & __________ & _________ ETC.
With regards to Bridge-gate and Christie, that would make sense if you were also a democrat or an R that really, really, really hated trump because Trumps corruption is many hundreds of times worse than this incident.
Ill post the facts about the bridge scandal when I get back home. Not to defend him but to show how he messed up.
Give it another try if you want.
Otherwise, I have no choice but to apply critical thinking and assume this about Christie violating the #1 tenet of the cult being the main reason that Trump supporters completely reject him without any other reasons that make sense:

BASKIN' ON THE BEACH, LIKE A BEACHED WHALE, WHILE EVERYONE ELSE HAD TO STAY HOME & MASK UP!
Thanks Jean!
Actually, this was in 2017 almost 3 years before COVID and revolved around Christie doing exactly what you insisted the Republicans do a couple of months ago regarding the debt............."stand pat". This is also, exactly what Trump insisted the Rs do and that they should default on the debt/shut down the government to get what they want.
And that's exactly what Christie did!
Based on your proclaimed philosophy here, you should be using that incident to strongly support Christie, not bash him like the MSM did over this.
Based on beach-gate and the budget, Christie should be "your man".
This is what actually happened:
There was a government shut down on Jul 1-3 2017, 3 days and Christie standing pat is what caused it. The dems, MSM and people of NJ were extremely outraged at Christie. The shutdown closed some non essential businesses, including public beaches during prime time(start of July-before Independance Day) and was the WORST time imaginable. Bad decision by Christie to stand pat against the Dems.
So the governors office owns a beach house located on 1 of those beaches. On 1 of those days when the beaches were closed to everybody else, Christie used the governors beach house with his family. Nothing wrong with that......except it looked REALLY BAD when others, that don't have properties on the beach like this, were not allowed to go to the PUBLIC beaches that were closed to them.
The MSM got pictures of it and destroyed Christie for hypocrisy.
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/06/30/nyregion/chris-christie-new-jersey-budget.html
The government shutdown is the first in New Jersey in more than a decade, and it came as many in the state were heading to the Jersey Shore and its many state parks to celebrate Independence Day. The state’s casinos and racetracks will remain open, however, because of a law passed after a shutdown in 2006.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is under fire after pictures emerged of him and his family sunbathing on a beach that he had closed to the public due to a state government shutdown

The Republican governor had demanded such a bill in exchange for signing off on some $325 million in Democratic priorities included in the proposed $34.7 billion state budget.
Democratic leaders of the state Legislature said the governor had stayed in touch all day and agreed to the terms.
“It’s unfortunate that we had to get to this point,” Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto, who refused to move an earlier bill targeting Horizon, said in a joint press conference with Senate President Stephen Sweeney. “I wish we would have been able to do this before, but sometimes, you know, it gets to a point that when you’re in a crisis, then people are more willing to be more reasonable.”
As the two spoke, the governor began announcing plans to lift his order shutting down all non-essential government services. The state Department of Environmental Protection quickly said all state parks and beaches would be open Tuesday morning for the Independence Day holiday.

So did Christie do anything wrong as governor by going to the Governors beach house for several hours on 1 day when the public beaches were closed that day because of him?
Of course not. But man, did they make him look really bad and hypocritical over it.
How bad was this bad judgement on his part compared to the current situation involving Trumps taking hundreds of boxes of classified government documents and refusing to return them and intentionally forcing the FBI to charge him because of the 2nd most egregious violation in presidential history by any president?
The difference is a zillion times worse with Trump.
What about Trump's attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election and single handedly causing the Jan. 6th Insurrection.......by far the MOST egregious violation in presidential history?
That would be a zillion to the zillionth power worse!
More 0's that would fit on this page here!
Christie did NOTHING WRONG. It just looked bad and was dumb.
Trump's violations? It's hard to estimate a number reflecting how criminal and diabolical his actions were.
But since you already decided you don't like Christie and used google to find bad things about him...........but didn't actually look at what happened(thought is was COVID), this is just another example of how people make assumptions, then find any facts they can find, without even checking to see what it is they have.........to support what THEY WANT TO BELIEVE.
Somehow, Trumps actions completely escape the far right and all they focus on is the FBI is out to get him..........Ray Epps supposedly working undercover for the FBI caused the riots in order to frame Trump and Trump is just an innocent victim being targeted again.
Jean,
regardless of where you got the wrong information from or not, I spent some time with that post to provide very comprehensIve, objective information about this topic for you.
Jean, it was you that brought up the beach incident, not me.
its You claiming Christie is mentally ill while posting “go trump In another post!
youve been here long enough to know where I’m coming from. This is not an echo chamber.

I don’t mollycottle anybody posting bs and I do it because I care about them if they are being sincere.
