It is probably a stretch, but I wonder if the historic marine heatwave of last summer could somehow be related.
Thanks for bringing this up.
Not enough information online to even provide solid clues.
Ocean water temps right now are at their yearly lows.
Not sure that record warm temps last Summer would be causing this now and not then. It could have altered something in the water that is still there and took time to have this impact........ but extensive tests haven't identified it, apparently.
I'm not downplaying this, just the opposite as I would like to get it figured out/reported but in today's age of sensationalism and constant bombardment of detailed information at our fingertips of situations that have always existed but we just never knew before the age of the internet...........a large part of this could be from that factor, which we've seen so many times......especially when it comes to exaggerating to scare people about the impending doom of the fake climate crisis.
The fake polar bear's dying off scare 2 decades ago, comes to mind(the polar bear population has INCREASED).
My starting point here is to assume that this is 100% legit and possibly related to the marine heat wave last Summer and go from there.
We certainly canNOT rely on our biased and sometimes corrupted scientists to give us an independent, objective definitive answer.
