Is any other iPhone user having lag along with other issues due to uploading the latest IOS?
Any recommendations? I’m still using a 12 series and wonder if an upgrade to current would solve this problem. I’ve been using iPhones since 2009 and never had this problem before. TIA for any advice.
I can’t switch to Android as a reasonable option due to using iPhones for so long.

Thanks, Mike. I think I’ve figured out the main culprit. My battery is at only 73% of full capacity when new. It is supposed to be changed when it gets down to 80%. It may be that this aged battery can’t handle the newer iOS well.
Our 38 year old son is a technology whiz so I sometimes need his assistance on challenging issues like this.
I absolutely hate iOS 26!! I first had accidentally downloaded it on my iPhone 12 recently and it was awful on it. But my battery was only at 73% health. And I figured that the 12 was too old to handle it. So, I just got a 17 figuring it would be smooth like iPhones always were back to when I got my first one in 2009. Guess what? It is absolutely horrible. Getting a 17 was no help at all! It’s skipping around doing all sorts of weird things on its own. I don’t know how to describe it. This is angering me so much.
Does anyone else have iOS 26?
