Trump budget seeks $1.5 trillion in defense spending alongside domestic program cuts

https://www.npr.org/2026/04/03/nx-s1-5772701/trump-budget-defense-spending

  • 19% cut in the Department of Agriculture, ending certain university grants, a 13% cut for the Department of Housing and Urban Development, and about a 12% decrease to the Health and Human Services department, including cuts to a low-income heating assistance program.

The White House is touting cuts of what it calls "woke programs" that often direct federal investments toward low-income communities. The budget used the word "woke" 34 times.

Make rich people that voted for Donald Trump and the military/industrial complex/defense industry richer.

Hurt/punish poor people that didn't vote for Donald Trump.

We can all see why the US needs to increase our military spending

The way Donald Trump's pathological mind works, this will give him even more power to start wars, attack innocent entities, take over countries and empower his imperialistic mentality with impunity.

After just doing our 2025 taxes, I will have to say there is something to be grateful for in the Big Beautiful(Ugly) Bill.

There's a new $6,000 deduction for people over 65. With my wife and I both being that age, it was a total $12,000 in deductions that we did not have the previous year which reduced our tax burden.

Pentagon wants $1.5 trillion budget for Golden Dome, drones, troop raises

https://thehill.com/policy/defense/5841366-defense-department-2027-budget-request-golden-dome-drones-troops/

With a 42 percent increase in the Defense Department’s funding from last year, the requested budget for 2027 would be the biggest year-over-year increase in military spending since the end of World War II.

The budget “will be the largest investment in military capabilities in over a generation,” Jules ‘Jay’ Hurst, who performs the duties of Pentagon comptroller, told reporters.
