US bombs Iran’s water facilities: Why that’s so significant

The US struck several sites in Iran, saying it retaliated against the downing of a US helicopter in the Strait of Hormuz

Bombing the water supplies (especially of an arid/semi arid country) with 90 million people in the Summer is a HORRIFIC WAR CRIME, specifically mentioned in the Geneva Convention!!!!!

Water and power infrastructure enjoy special protection.

Article 54 - Protection of objects indispensable to the survival of the civilian population

1. Starvation of civilians as a method of warfare is prohibited.

2. It is prohibited to attack, destroy, remove or render useless objects indispensable to the survival of the civilian population, such as foodstuffs, agricultural areas for the production of foodstuffs, crops, livestock, drinking water installations and supplies and irrigation works, for the specific purpose of denying them for their sustenance value to the civilian population or to the adverse Party, whatever the motive, whether in order to starve out civilians, to cause them to move away, or for any other motive.

++++++++++++++++++++

The provision exists precisely because such infrastructure cannot be separated from civilian life: when it collapses, people die from thirst, disease, and the cascading failure of hospitals, agriculture, and sanitation systems.

This was one of the tactics that Donald Trump's partner in crime, Bibi Netanyahu has blatantly used during his 2+ year genocide against the people living in Gaza.

Donald Trump is so desperate, 4 months into his unprovoked, unjustified, illegal war (that violated International Law)  that he is ramping up his violations to show to the world how despicable he is.

How ironic and  hypocritical this is from the same man claiming to do this for the Iranian people when he started the war, to now be committing horrific war crimes against those people by bombing their water supplies!

+++++++++++++++

Donald Trump's previous attacks on civilian infrastructure, including schools, homes, historical buildings and other NON military targets already violated the Geneva Convention but specifically targeting, water, food and electricity is a level so egregious, that only a psychopath that does not respect humanity would take them out.

And the saddest part of this is that Iran posed NO THREAT TO THE UNITED STATES or most of the world outside of the Middle East(specifically Israel-which is the only benefactor of this war- everybody else is suffering massive losses).

Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth’s Warped Vision of the Iran War

The two men might wish that they lived in a world where whoever dropped the most bombs got whatever he wanted. But the war has shown that this isn’t true.
