On July 12, McConnell’s office shared a written update from the senator, explaining that the fall left him unconscious and that he subsequently developed “a mild case of pneumonia.”
But McConnell was told he broke no bones in the fall, and that he has no tumors or hemorrhages and did not have a concussion, heart attack or stroke, according to the statement. The senator added that he had been moved from the hospital to a rehab center.

What the heck? He's been out of commission for over 6 weeks, missing 38 votes and is 84 years old and clearly does not have the health required to do his job and we still don't have an explanation that makes sense.
Who needs rehab for 6 weeks and apparently more weeks to come of inpatient rehab because they fell but according to them, nothing bad happened in the fall.
What is this game about???? But McConnell was told he broke no bones in the fall, and that he has no tumors or hemorrhages and did not have a concussion, heart attack or stroke, according to the statement.
Maybe he also doesn't have AIDS or 100 other things too. We don't care about WHAT HE DOESN'T HAVE.
Why won't they just tell us what he DOES HAVE which 6 weeks of intensive hospital care/physical therapy wasn't enough to recover from?
WHAT IS HE BEING TREATED FOR????
You can't fix being old and weak. If that's all this is then he clearly no longer qualifies to do his job. If he needs more than 6 weeks of intensive physical therapy because he's too old and weak to do his job then, he's just too old and weak to do his job FOREVER!!!!
If he comes back in August, he'll be 8 weeks OLDER than he was when he got too old and weak to do his job in June.
Maybe a bit stronger temporarily because of the intensive rehab but that will wear off fast in August, September and October as he gets 8, 12 and 16 weeks OLDER............AND WEAKER!
He's damaging his long legacy as one of the most powerful Rs in the Senate's history more and more the longer this goes on.
This is what many people will remember the most..........what he did last. Embarrassing himself by lacking transparency and covering up his health condition. Not only does this clearly demonstrate that he's not qualified to do the job that American's elected him to do and he's been paid for but it's a blatant display of dishonesty and lack of transparency in the age of people being fed up with lying politicians more concerned with themselves or their agenda than with Americans. .
All we get is a couple of images of a smiling McConnell looking like a happy, healthy 84 year old and we're all supposed to be stupid and accept that as proof that everything is fine and dandy and this is acceptable.
Thank you, Mike, for starting this thread. Many have been doubting that these photos were from the present and/or thinking they were doctored/AIed. They wonder why he won’t make a phone call or do a live stream. There is a theory that he’s in really bad shape (hopefully not but I fear this for the reasons you alluded to) and that the GOP feels it’s to their advantage to hide his condition at least til early August supposedly because of a crucial date then.
I don’t feel good about this at all due to a combo of his prior condition not being good based on several past incidences including freeze-ups and his being 84. :( I don’t think it takes a doc to realize this.
YW, Larry!

I actually feel empathy for McConnell because he's old and sick and I want him to get better. He's had a great run and deserves credit for serving in the Senate for decades as a powerful force. However, he and his people only have themselves to blame on their catastrophically bad managing of this issue.
Even if he does come back, all eyes will be on him and scrutinizing any flaws in his walking/talking and using them as evidence for why he should have resigned a long time ago. And they WILL be right.
He can't win at this point because there is no fountain of youth that will allow him to recover to a qualified state and his own really bad handling of this has made it THE MOST RELEVANT part of who Mitch McConnell is today and for the rest of his time in the Senate.
He will be serving the rest of his term with a big black cloud following him everywhere.
