THE COMING CRISIS
This is how the crisis would unfold. The precursor of the crisis will come sometime before noon on January 3, when Speaker Johnson removes current House Clerk Kevin McCumber and replaces him with a person loyal to Johnson and House Republicans who they know will refuse to list on the statutory roll of representatives-elect to the 120th Congress any Democrat-elect whom Johnson and the Republicans direct him or her not to list. Under Rule II, Clause 1 of the Rules of the House, the Speaker of the House has the unilateral power to remove the incumbent clerk, and then the power under Title 2 U.S.C. § 5501(a) to replace him temporarily with whomever he wishes until the House elects a successor.
McCumber is a Republican appointed by former Speaker Kevin McCarthy. He is widely respected for his integrity and faithful adherence to the Constitution and is reputed to be unwilling to carry out orders he considers to be unconstitutional.
The first moment of constitutional crisis will come when, sometime before the 120th Congress has been gaveled into session, the loyal temporary clerk refuses to list Democrat representatives-elect on the clerk’s roll of representatives-elect that determines who may participate in organizing the new Congress.

This is exactly how a cult leader exercises his mind control over people in their cult. Not just close but EXACTLY!
But there were two separate things that happened at Trump’s fake GOP “midterm convention” (there was no convention, it was just a rally) and the way the media handled each tells you plenty about how stupid things have become. First up, Trump stated that if the Republicans win the midterms, every American would get a $5,000 check. This is both illegal and ridiculous.
It’s illegal because 18 USC 597 makes it a crime to offer an expenditure to induce someone to vote a particular way — which is precisely what dangling $5,000 checks in exchange for a Republican Congress is. It’s ridiculous because Trump promises this kind of bullshit all the time and never delivers. Here’s a compilation of him making unfulfilled promises of “dividend” checks over and over again:
Trump: "Please right your right hand. I pledge to the greatest president in the history of the United States. That loves us so much he can't even breath. That I will go out with my family, my friends, I'll do it any way - I don't care if I'm registered or not, I'm going to try to cheat like hell..."

This is absolutely possible because Trump will do everything he can to maintain control and he has total control of the most of the Rs in Congress.
However, if he tried to do this, it could only work temporarily until the Supreme Court ruled that it was illegal and for the legit election results to stand.
The Rs would likely know this before hand and know they would end up losing and look even worse and it would serve as ADDITIONAL EVIDENCE to impeach Donald Trump.
The Rs MUST know that after they lose the elections, the game is over.
They are getting away with breaking laws by enabling and supporting Donald Trump because they won the 2024 elections. They know that. The results of the 2026 election REPLACE that impunity because Ds will have control of the House and possibly the Senate.
The real question is, if the VAST majority of Americans would be outraged if this was done and the Supreme Court will shoot it down, even if it takes weeks to swear in the new Ds into office, what would Rs have to gain for the 2028 elections???
This will be the ultimate test of Donald Trump's power over the Rs. I believe(with low confidence) that they will see the writing on the wall and know with certainty that DT is completely decimating their party and see the impeachment hearings/investigation as a wonderful opportunity to finally get rid of this galactic Albatross to the R party and begin the healing of the R party as it looks forward to the 2028 elections.
There really can't be many Rs that think that Donald Trump staying in office for his entire term will not greatly harm the Rs chances in 2028. Honestly, a big reason that there might not be an impeachment investigation is that the Ds want Donald Trump to stay in office so that he keeps helping the D's and wrecking the R party!
However, the Ds and Independents in our country would be extremely outraged, after they elected Ds to stop Donald Trump..........if they failed to stop Donald Trump.
A president Vance in 2027/28 would help heal the R party and give them a better chance in the 2028 elections.
If a president Trump and his actions does not justify impeachment.........then there is nothing at any time in our 250 year history and for the next XXX years that justifies impeachment.
In thinking deeply about this with perspective this morning, Larry I'm 99% confident that Donald Trump will be impeached AND REMOVED from office. With at least 15 Rs in the Senate voting for it to obtain the 2/3rds majority for removal.

The gravest constitutional offense a president can commit—the refusal to relinquish and peacefully transfer the power of the presidency to his duly elected successor. Violating our democracy and attempting to overturn the US government with an Insurrection IS PATRIOTIC!
Continuing to blatantly lie for 6 years about the most indisputably proven results of an election, the 2020 presidential election is patriotic!
Trying to rig the 2026 election by cheating and publicly encouraging the Rs to pledge to "cheat like hell" and do everything possible to win the November 2026 election is patriotic!
Claiming he will give all Americans $5,000 (illegally) if the Rs win the next election is fair and honest.
Attempting to stealing $1.7 billion from the Treasury to reward Insurrectionists and others loyal to Donald Trump as well as passing a law that makes the Trump family immune to prosecution for their tax crimes.
One of the biggest problems with Donald Trump's impeachment is that he has been responsible for thousands of people loyal to Donald Trump (not the Constitution) being appointed to key positions in this county. Almost all of them will stay in office, pushing Donald Trump's agenda for an X period of time well after Donald Trump has been removed.
Can you say "Kash Patel, Pete Hegseth, Todd Blanche, Stephen Miller, Scott Bessent, Markwayne Mullin, Jay Clayton, Tom Homan, and Robert F Kennedy" to name several at the top.

This is a huge part of the problem. Rs in Congress that mislead and lie to justify everything that Donald Trump does. Enabling and supporting, even the most galactically absurd positions (like winning the 2020 presidential election) or claiming this current act doesn't violate the 1st Amendment.

It's no longer a question of WILL Donald Trump try to steal the November 2026 elections. He's already doing that.
The question is how far he will go to rig the elections for the Rs and especially what he will do AFTER the results to sabotage our democracy and stop the newly elected Ds from taking office(to start the impeachment process).
His past behavior and 2 progressive brain diseases that are causing him to be more and more out of touch with anything resembling standards/laws/behavior tell us to not rule out anything.
Even an extreme that exceeds all his extreme's to this point because this time, it will be a desperate battle to save his presidency.
To this point, he's abused and exploited his ability to impose his agenda.........to make Donald Trump an historical legend as the greatest president and man that ever lived.
He's done that with impunity because of the Rs in Congress that enable and support him.
However, the courts, that take months at times have pushed back hard with many hundreds of rulings against his illegal actions.
His objective now, is focusing more on SAVING his presidency, while still imposing as much of his self serving agenda as he can before he loses power!!!!

The saddest thing is that Donald Trump's behavior like this, for most American's is not even shocking anymore.

It's a done deal for the Ds to win the House and impeach Trump with them having the needed 50%+.
Lets say the Senate is 50-50 after the election. With 49 Ds, we need 17 Rs to get to 66% for impeachment AND REMOVAL.
If the Senate is 53-D's and 47-Rs after the election, with 52 Ds voting for impeachment(without fake D Fetterman) that would mean we need 14 Rs to vote for impeachment.
Folks, this is what it all boils down to! In 2027, our country will be facing the most important decision in the history of our country and it will all come down to a dozen+ votes of Rs in the Senate.
Rs will desperately want, desperately NEED their party to start healing from the decimating impact being caused by Donald Trump (and his 2 progressive brain diseases). Instead of sentencing their party to another year+ of accumulating damage, entirely from Donald Trump. The R party, looking towards the 2028 elections will have these 2 choices:
1. Allow Donald Trump to continue to destroy their party and decimate any chance they have of winning in 2028 orrrrrr
2. Impeaching and removing Donald Trump from office to BEGIN THE HEALING OF THE R PARTY!
However, this will become the most dangerous time for our country since the Civil War as Donald Trump, the most dangerous president in history by a Grand Canyon wide margin, with thousands of his minions appointed to key positions will do ANYTHING to keep him in power. ANYTHING as in being extreme enough to start a nuclear war with Russia or even China. Drop nuclear bombs on Iran out of vengeance to punish them for hurting him for his entirely self imposed, unjustified war in Iran (after Netanyahu convinced him that he would be an historical legend/conqueror in the Middle East by easily taking out Iran).

The Alaskan Supreme Court has already ruled on this(in June). The Constitution says crystal clearly that the Alaskan Supreme Court has the final say on this!
