2nd nor’easter possible next week

The models since Oct 14th have increasingly harped on a nor’easter/hybrid forming 150-300 miles SE of the NC Outer Banks by late this weekend. If this ends up having a strong effect on part of the U.S. E coast, it would be the second such storm if one includes the big on late in Sept that had a major impact on the NE US. This one may have its biggest impact further south as in the NC OB/VA Beach area although that’s far from determined even assuming the storm verifies.

All of the 12Z runs of the major operational global models now have this, including the AI versions, and have since 6Z although the UKMET/Euro are further offshore than their 6Z runs (>300 miles) and thus far enough out to not have too much direct effect on the OB.
