Huge election coming up in Israel. Does Israel think that Netanyahu has been taking Israel down the right path? Do they support his agenda, that includes genocides? If he's elected again(stays in power), then Israel has nobody to blame but themselves for being shunned by most of the world as a pariah country.

To repeat for the umpteenth time. I was raised in the Catholic faith and went to a Catholic school in the Detroit area(St. Alphonsus-Dearborn, MI) for 12 years that taught/indoctrinated me to believe that today's Jews are the ancestors of God's chosen people, the Israelite.

For most decades of my life, this left me 100% convinced that everything Israel did was justified by their history and  relationship with God and that Islam was a false religion. Every confrontation was 100% the fault of the other parties.

After learning about the Holocaust as a young child, I was profoundly stunned and moved with empathy for the wonderful Jewish people that I put on a pedestal for so many  decades. How could somebody (Hitler and the Nazi party) be so diabolical to do what he/they did, especially to God's chosen people????

I still feel that exact same way about the Holocaust. It's always a good thing to review what actually happened for people of the latest generations that might not fully understand it so long after it occurred.

Fast forward to the year 2026. I've discarded my belief that Israel and it's leaders are infallible because of the real world and studying objective historical facts that include the current genocide in Gaza and the ability to think outside my previous indoctrination.

I realize that my previous indoctrination led to some underlying, latent Islamophobia which I have replaced with more objective thinking. Not supporting Iran or Hamas or other evil entities but instead, being able to see and strongly condemn diabolical  people and their actions like Bibi Netanyahu despite his faith and country.
