2016 – A magnitude 7.8 earthquake strikes Kaikoura, New Zealand, at a depth of 15 km (9 miles), resulting in the deaths of two people.

1971Mariner 9 enters orbit around Mars.

Two years prior my company sub-contracted to Jet Propulsion Labs and I designed two circuit boards that were on board for a Mars flyby.

Mike, I worked for "Litton Guidance and Control" back then as an electro-mechanical designer. We did cockpit guidance systems, the flight line test equipment and the factory test equipment.
