I've long thought this was true, but how soon it will happen is anyone's guess. I think the STEM curriculum courses will be the first to adopt a paradigm change (although I think one could argue that the end of the "well-rounded" college degree is already upon us), meaning a new type of higher learning will offer STEM degrees at considerably lower cost and fewer years to completion than that offered at most universities today by eliminating the arts, humanities, and social science components of the classical well-rounded education model (or what remains of it on many college campuses -- according to the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), a well-rounded education includes the arts, humanities, sciences, social sciences, English, and math).
