National #corn conditions stayed at 56% good/excellent on the week, but there were notable declines in Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. Those were offset by a lot of smaller increases elsewhere.

National conditions for #soybeans stayed at 54% good/excellent this week. Very lousy conditions in Ohio (28% g/e), Indiana (37% g/e), and Missouri (38% g/e). Most states had a small delta on the week but they all offset.

Emergence is still slow for #soybeans in these states:

Ohio 62% (45% last wk, 97% avg)

Missouri 63% (51% last wk, 86% avg)

Michigan 67% (48% last wk, 97% avg)

 Indiana 73% (56% last wk, 96% avg)

Illinois 78% (67% last wk, 96% avg

Even if all those acres the USDA says were planted, were actually planted, it’s still going to be a rough summer for grains.

There are fields around here in Ohio where the grass is higher than the corn.
