House Democrats inch toward majority support for impeachment

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/455221-house-democrats-inch-toward-majority-support-for-impeachment

"Just days into the long summer recess, a number of House Democrats have endorsed the drive to impeach President Trump, inching the number of supporters closer to a majority of the House Democratic Caucus in what could pose new challengers for Speaker"

Supporters of the impeachment strategy had predicted support would only grow as lawmakers traveled home for the six-week break to gauge the temperature of voters. And they haven’t been disappointed."

Metmike: Here's the thing. The house, with a democratic majority, can impeach Trump.  with a majority vote if they all vote in favor of it. Then it goes to the senate which requires a 2/3rd super majority to impeach and the republicans have a strong majority in the senate so there is a near 0 chance of it getting passed by the senate.

All the democrats and republicans know this with certainty, so they are not really trying to remove Trump from office since there is no chance that this can do it. Trump will NOT be impeached by the senate and will finish out his term.

What they are doing is continuing to attack and try to destroy Trump however possible. Trying to block ALL of his agenda, even good agenda and gain power so they can do the opposite of everything that he's doing.

Instead of trying to work with the republicans and Trump,  the battle plan is to destroy him and them with tactics like this which puts them in a better position to win elections in 2020 and afterwards.

This is nothing but a strategic, political battle to gain power back......at the expense of doing their jobs working for the American people to get things done in the best interest of our country.

The Mueller investigation, then hearing that back fired on them last week because Trump did not collude with Russia and was unfairly investigated and accused of crimes that he did not commit was just part of that.

But they will not be detered. The objective is clear and facts never did matter.

So what will the reason be that the house uses to impeach President Trump?

Good question. We know that in Nixons case, had he not resigned, there were many clear crimes that he committed and would have been impeached.

When Clinton was impeached by one chamber of congress, he also had been charged with numerous crimes.

Trump? He's not been charged with any crimes and there is no evidence that he committed any crimes(actions of an innocent man being unfairly investigated for crimes that he did not commit is not a crime of obstruction as one side wants people to think).

So the dems will have to use something else, related to how they spin his behavior and blow it up into something horrific.........which justifies his removal from office.

One can certainly make the case that he has not been acting presidential by anybody's standard. There have been countless incidents where he tweets or says things to attack those who are attacking him that shows a complete lack of class. He does an extremely poor job of representing the office of president at these times. This is pretty discraceful, legit and a big deal  but do we impeach a president because of this?

The dems have to come up with something better than that I believe for it to make sense and they can't use the real reason, as mentioned above because thats not legit.

Here's a source that posts 10 reasons. Wow! This entity and people like that(of which there are millions, including some of the dems in office) are completely delusional. When I read this and appreciate whats going on in their brains, it makes me very sad for them and our country.

They live in a world where you can manufacture your own facts and apply them, how you want to show whatever you want them to show and not have any proof or authenticity.

Speculate as much as you want, but as long as Nancy Pelosi is Speaker of the House, there will be no impeachment.

I'm sure you must mean there will be no vote for impeachment by the house because of Pelosi because it doesn;t matter who is calling the shots or whether they vote or not, Trump will not be impeached by the Senate which requires a 2/3rd super majority to do that.

Pelosi is being smart and that may mean that she is playing another tactical game, waiting to go forward with the impeachment hearings/vote next year, ahead of the election to maximize the damage.

She knows how to push Trumps buttons, she knows how to play narratives to blame Trump.....like with the blaming Trump for the government shut down over the non crisis at the border that Trump was supposedly making up and hurting the American people to get his way.

No doubt, the 10's of millions of people that hate Trump greatly and want him impeached, will buy into whatever the reasons given by the democrats to impeach him.

What are those reasons? This is a serious action that we are talking about. Outside of the Trump haters and the dem base, how do you justify it.

Disagreeing with his agenda is not a good reason. Him not releasing his taxes is not a good reason. The Mueller report was a complete flop in establishing a reason to impeach him. You can spin it however you want but Trump did not collude with Russia, did not break any laws and was acting like an innocent man defending himself during the unfair investigation, not obstructing the investigation by breaking laws. Ironically, the Mueller investigation, when viewed with an objective mind shows clearly  that Trump was the one that suffered the injustices...........many of them for 2 years.

Trump's crazy tweets and non presidential, mean behavior, often attacking dems and the MSM(usually after they attacked him first) using demeaning statements and language which shows he has no class.....is the main legit item the dems have.

Is it acceptable to impeach a president for this?

 People like the author of the article below are delusional as they claim the Mueller testimony is giving the democrats what they needed to proceed with impeachment. Absent the loose cannon, embarrassing behavior, personality flaws displayed by President Trump on a regular basis, these people are twisting realities like a pretzel to make them appear as evidence of wrong doing which is based more on speculative assumptions vs solid evidence of impeachable offenses;

An Impeachment Inquiry Is Coming. It Might Have Already Begun.

Robert Mueller’s testimony may have lacked thrills, but it marked a turning point in the case against the president.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/29/opinion/trump-impeachment.html

"The Washington Post. CNN’s Chris Cillizza declared Mueller’s testimony “a bust — at least when it came to generating momentum for impeachment.”

Less than a week later, it’s clear that these hot takes were wrong. At no point in Trump’s wretched rule has impeachment appeared more probable. Indeed, Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee, which would oversee impeachment hearings, argue that an inquiry into impeachment has already begun. An inexorable confrontation between the House and the president has been set in motion.

Before Mueller’s testimony last Wednesday, 93 House Democrats had come out for an impeachment inquiry. As I write this on Monday, the number is up to 109; among them are Katherine Clark, vice chairwoman of the House Democratic caucus, and Mike Levin, a freshman from a swing district. By the end of the week, more than half the Democratic caucus could be on board."

It's another in a long line of examples of cheap theatrics from the left.  What amazes me is the volume of people who continue to buy into this nonsense.
