What time frames do you use for selling options ?

Near the money or way out?

Been toe tipping with these and would like your thoughts.

Depends on my plan.  If I am looking to own the stock I sell an at the money put.  The puts I sell in the S&P I do when the market is down at least 20 points. Then I look for the 16 delta put. I set the price I want to sell it for and wait. I did that Friday but we all know the market kept crashing. So I am down pretty big right now.

As for the time frame, at the money look for at least 30 DTE. The puts I sell in the S&P are the closest to expiration.
