All previous presidents both Democrats and Republicans have respected the privacy of military families.

But not Trump.  He uses them as political props.  What a disgusting man.

In order to try to see your viewpoint joj, I watched this powerful video over and pretended that my son had been killed in the Middle East(and I was one of your so called props) or that I had a son or daughter there.

I am thinking the exact opposite, when trying to have the mindset of the families with brave soldiers. In fact, this is exactly what I challenged you over last week because you and me don't have that mindset.

Before this video was produced, they got the authorization and stamp of approval from those in the video.............so it represents their feelings.

But we can qualify this emotion with real world, put your money where your mouth is stats/facts.. I always wanted Ron Paul, the Libertarian to be nominated and run for president. His anti war, bring all the troops home position was powerful for me.  He didn't get enough support to make it but the exception to that was military families.

Ron Paul says members of military have given him far more money than other GOP candidates and Barack Obama

https://www.politifact.com/texas/statements/2011/jul/23/ron-paul/ron-paul-says-members-military-have-given-him-far-/

"If he were president, U.S. Rep. Ron Paul says, the United States would remove its forces from Afghanistan as "quickly as the ships could get there."

"Summing up, Paul’s military-connected contributions for the three months more than double such contributions to all the other Republican presidential candidates—and they also exceed Obama’s."

"We rate his statement True."

metmike: So clearly, President Trump is not using these families, he is representing exactly how they feel! The objective evidence is irrefutable.

This one tells us something similar to the situation on our southern border:

Trump says he’s ending the US role in Syria. That’s not true.

        https://www.vox.com/world/2019/10/9/20906227/trump-turkey-invades-syria-middle-east-tweet

"The US isn’t withdrawing any troops from Syria, at least not yet."

You remember during the government shut down at the end of last year, when Trump claimed it was over the crisis at the southern border(that he needed assistance in managing) and the dems/MSM insisted he was making it all up  to get HIS wall to save face and apply his racist/xenophobe agenda...........then, the news slipped out that it was a mega crisis. Then, the position of the other side quickly morphed into Donald Trump IS CAUSING the crisis on the southern border.

Same thing here.  No matter what Trump's positions or actions are, the other side will take the opposite position and tell us why Trump's position is either wrong or why he is lying about what he is really doing and what the real reason is.

In going back to earlier this year joj, I see that you were one of those that kept insisting there was no crisis on the southern border, the opposite of when Trump was saying there was.

What then is NOT a national emergency???"

"Now, about that national emergency....

Illegal border crossings at 40 year lows.  I can't help but notice Trump doesn't take credit for that like he takes credit for 40 year lows in unemployment.  Why?  Because if he did, how could he claim an emergency?

And one last question:  If it's a national emergency, then why didn't he declare it last year?  What changed?"

We have the ability to show data, graphs, links, documents and previous posts/threads to prove points irrefutably(if one has the time to retrieve them) vs just using words and endless bickering between 2 sides that will never agree.

As a scientist, if you can't show proof or facts to substantiate a position, state your opinion 1 time............as an opinion, then go on.

If you have verifiable facts/powerful evidence to support a position/point...........then game on.

Even when one side is oblivious to those facts from cognitive bias induced by a belief system, it's important to use them.

This is the recipe for obliterating the fake climate crisis, false narratives:
