So far all the slaughter doesn't seem to have much affected hog prices. How come?

That is actually amazing news.
That red river is from my trading account due to grabbing the falling knife and doubling down aggressively. Money management went by the wayside. Oldest trading adage is when the market does not respond to obvious fundamental stimuli the way it is supposed to, then price will launch in the unexpected direction and in a big way.
