Stimulas money for state gov't

It seems the stimulas money has been directed toward our large and small business. I also know a lot of people did not get their cheque soon enough to make the payments, they were making, before they got locked down, and now have no way of making all their payments. We know the stimulas bill was neither fair or equal to everybody. The economy will suffer, that much we know

Having said all that, one place that seems to have no federal funding is state and locaal gov't. What does state and local gov't do to make up for lost revenue??

Heck the Fed is even buying stks on the stk market plus every other kind of security to keep big business from going BK. What is state and local gov't supposed to do. The logical end story is state and local govv't goes BK. That means no police, firemen, teachers, pension plans the list goes on. The state of Ill was almost BK before the virus. Just imagine what the financial statement will look like for Ill. today, tomorrow or?? How much would the state of Ill have to raise taxes to avoid BK

Lets look at Kansas. The property tax on farm land is almost or is 100.00/acre. If corn has a 2 handle then it will be impossible to pay the land tax plus input cost and make a profit. is it the purpose of this tax to see land values go down, as nobody will plant a crop at a loss for very long. The banker will soon put a stop to that idea of planting at a loss.

So what does the state of Kansas do for revenue??? Fire all the teachers, police, firemen etc???

BK means munis are almost worthless as the creditors fight over the assets of the state and local gov't

I have not heard one word about the very strong possibility of state and local BK. Think it won't happen.??? What makes you think it won't happen with out a crushing tax load on the citizens. In fact more than most can afford with all the other debt the average citizen is trying to manage.

Do we ask the Fed to hand out more fiat to save everybody, even our gov't. How much fiat can the Fed hand out before it all implodes.

Do we fall off the cliff??.

I am happy to report our Canadian gov't is getting requests for municipal funding

Of coarse the federal gov't has many requests for money so the Federal gov't is considering the request

At least Canada has a conversation going about the need for municipal funding, due to a short fall in revenue
