Except for some posting about the deficit. I wonder how many on this forum have given some thought about how the country will survive

Need I remind you of the business closed or BK, unemployment, the number of people with out enough food, banks setting aside huge amounts for defaults, social unrest, Biden policy statement of trillions of new spending if elected, the amount of people accepting some sort of social benefits, today, and on and on we go as each day brings more bad news from CV to the down trend of the USD

Then look at the world and tell me who is thriving in this new normal

If the stk market fails which could happen then the top 10% takes a severe financial hit

The calls for socialism will be impossible to ignore, especially if Bidden wins the election. Socialism is coming, Biden will just speed up the process

We know what socialism means but obviously a majority {IMO] will demand and succeed in socialism for the country

If you want to look inside my crystal ball all I can see is socialism as the end result

How many on this forum could survive in a socialist  country. I would say the number of survivors on this forum would be zero

Or??

Do you think socialism will not happen in the USA or of course Canada

I suppose if the US morphs into a type of socialism similar to many European countries we could survive-but certainly not flourish.

Socialism strikes me as "boring" "HO Hum".

Capitalism is exciting in contrast.

It leads

It wins

And so on.

Yep,much too biased and simply put but mostly the way I perceive things.

Who would be around to save the world from the bad guys?

I'll shut up now,but Wayne you are not alone out there.

I hear you 7475 and agree with you

Unfortunately you and I will not be the majority

Our wishes will not satisfy the majority

I don't think we will have socialism anything like Europe

I think we will have socialism Venezuala style

Fitch has already down graded USA credit rating

It took a bit over 100 yrs from buying a meat and potatoes, coffee meal from 25 cents to 25.00 in a mom and pop eatery

With the current speed of printing and spending trillions, [there is a difference between millions, billions and trillions, a big difference] it is not impossible to imagine the same happening in [say 5 yrs]. Thus your meat and potato meal will cost 2500.00

Now who can afford those prices??

Thus the majority want the gov't to look after them which is socialism

Venezuala style with a meat and potato meal costing 2500.00

This has happened before. Why are we different considering the current crop of socialists

So you think 5 yrs is impossible. Well a 2500.00 meal will happen and sooner than the last 100 yrs. With trillions in spending, it will happen quickly. Let's imagine what a trillion dollars really consists about. If you had a trillion dollars when Christ was born and spent a million dollars every day until today you would have spent approx 3/4 of a trillion dollars. Most people can't wrap their head around what the Fed is printing and congress is spending, or what the deficit is all about considering nobody intends to re-pay the debt. Now do you get some idea of how much money congress has and will spend.

Now, to make it interesting, consider how much money the world banks have printed and that is where it goes off the cliff. [to borrow a terminology from some other person]

That is why I ask "how will we survive"

given the fact that i expect a coming depression (within the next 2 decades, maybe sooner),  i expect that there will be massive political strife.  there is probably a good chance that many countries will be torn apart.
