Biden Names John Kerry Climate Envoy

The appointment telegraphs the incoming administration considers climate change a key foreign policy concern

https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/biden-names-john-kerry-climate-envoy/

"Former Secretary of State John Kerry would become the highest-ranking U.S. official ever to have a portfolio exclusively devoted to climate change when he joins President-elect Joe Biden’s White House next year.

The new title for Kerry, the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee who represented Massachusetts in the Senate for 28 years: special presidential envoy on climate change.

While Biden’s transition team offered few specifics about Kerry’s role yesterday, he’ll be the first climate official ever with a seat on the National Security Council. And “presidential” in his title suggests Kerry will report directly to Biden, while “envoy” marks him as a senior diplomat.

White House climate leads under President Obama—former Clinton EPA Administrator Carol Browner and counselor to the president John Podesta—had a hand in molding domestic and international policies. Kerry’s role would be focused internationally. Kerry’s stature and close relationship to Biden, with whom he served with for decades in the Senate, ensures he would represent the U.S. climate agenda in the highest diplomatic circles, including meetings with foreign leaders.

His appointment also affirms Biden’s commitment to climate change as a foreign policy issue, despite focusing on domestic aspects of his plan on the campaign trail.

“America will soon have a government that treats the climate crisis as the urgent national security threat it is,” Kerry said on Twitter yesterday.

The Biden transition team yesterday telegraphed that a domestic climate official with a similarly high profile would be announced in the coming weeks. And incoming White House chief of staff Ron Klain hinted as much in a Twitter post of his own yesterday.

“Stay tuned!!” he tweeted in response to a post by the Sunrise Movement’s Varshini Prakash, who said she was keeping her “eyes peeled for a domestic equivalent” to Kerry.

“If you look at the stature and reputation of the former secretary of State, you can imagine that whoever is going to lead the domestic agenda will have to be able to match that to the extent it’s possible,” said Christy Goldfuss, senior vice president for energy and environment at the Center for American Progress and an alumna of the Obama White House. “They clearly will need to be partners, given that the domestic agenda and the international agenda are so closely aligned when it comes to climate change.”

Kerry’s résumé on climate change is long and deep, spanning both his time in Foggy Bottom and on Capitol Hill.

In the Senate, he was a lead sponsor of the highest-profile carbon cap-and-trade bill of the Obama era, although it never came to the floor for a vote. And as secretary of State he helped land the Paris climate agreement."

Kerry is also a "Great Reset" promoter.

Scary thought

Thanks Gunter!!

I actually didn't know that before.

That tells us that Biden's administration is totally on board with changing the worlds economic and governing models and knows completely that the Climate Accord has nothing to do with the Climate.

Justin Haskins: Al Gore, John Kerry, others have radical plans for a 'Great Reset’ of capitalism

The socialist outline is clear: destroy the global capitalist economy and reform the Western world

The days of “moderate” liberalism are long over. In just the past few months, radical leftists have torn down statues of great American heroes like George Washington, taken over six city blocks in one of America’s largest cities and burned police stations to the ground.

Of course, none of these violent and destructive actions have done anything to fix racial disparities in the United States. But that’s not what these assaults on our nation were really about, despite the many claims to the contrary by the left-wing press.

Rather, the real purpose behind many of the riots — not the peaceful protests, which have always been motivated by a completely different set of values — has been to create chaos and drag the country kicking and screaming off the socialist cliff.

But as terrifying as the left’s revolutionary activities have been, there is a more dangerous threat to freedom brewing. It’s called the “Great Reset,” and it’s rapidly gaining popularity among many of the world’s most powerful movers and shakers, including U.S. business and political leaders like Al Gore and John Kerry, who is now helping Joe Biden reshape his own and the Democratic Party’s climate policies.

Launched earlier in June, the “Great Reset” is the brain-child of the World Economic Forum (WEF) and Prince Charles, both of whom have long been associated with far-left policy proposals meant to tackle climate change.

Former failed US presidential candidate John Kerry says ‘Great Reset’ necessary to stop nationalist populism

John Kerry believes the coronavirus crisis is an opportunity to take on national populism

https://rmx.news/article/article/former-failed-us-presidential-candidate-john-kerry-say-great-reset-necessary-to-stop-nationalist-populism

Former failed Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry recently attended a panel discussion at the World Economic Forum alongside globalists like European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, during which he claimed that a ‘Great Reset’ was needed to halt the rise of nationalist populism.

During the discussion, Kerry reassured fellow panel members that under a Biden administration the United States plans to rejoin the Paris Climate Agreement, a multilateral agreement between nations that is estimated to cost one million American jobs, and which Kerry says will be one of the driving forces behind the ‘Great Reset’.

Despite mainstream press outlets like the New York Times falsely claiming that the idea of a ‘Great Reset’ is some kind of conspiracy theory, the World Economic Forum — on its very own website — describes the ‘Great Reset’ as an initiative intended to get “global stakeholders to cooperate in simultaneously managing the direct consequences of the COVID-19 crisis.”

Critics of the ‘Great Reset’, however, have described it as nothing more than a brazen attempt by globalists to further centralize control into the hands of a tiny elite.

“The notion of a reset is more important than ever before,” Kerry said. “I personally believe… we’re at the dawn of an extremely exciting time.”

For the former US Senator and Secretary of State, however, rejoining the Paris Climate Agreement — which could wipe out jobs in well-paying energy industries in places like Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Ohio — is not enough.

“I know Joe Biden believes this. It’s not enough just to rejoin [the Paris Climate Agreement] for the United States. It’s not enough for us to do just the minimum of what [the agreement] requires,” said Kerry.

Kerry then pivoted the direction of the conversation toward populism and nationalism, saying that he believes the so-called ‘reset’ is absolutely essential to eradicate the nationalist-populist ideology that continues to win over hearts and minds in Europe and beyond.

The former US senator suggested that the rise of nationalist-populist governments around the world is “a reflection of the inability of democratic governments in many parts of the world” to confront pressing problems facing citizens.

“I think Europe has to look at that with Brexit and the rising national populism – nationalistic populism,” said Kerry. “Which is really one of the priorities that we all have to address. You can’t dismiss it.”

Commenting on the more than 71 million Americans who were recorded as having voted President Donald Trump in this year’s presidential election, Kerry said: “What astounds me is that as many people still voted for the level of chaos and breach of law and order and breaking the standards and… I think that, the underlying reason for that is something that everybody has to examine.”

Von der Leyen also discussed the need to “restore multilateral organizations” like the World Health Organization (WHO) and World Trade Organization (WTO) in order for what she described as a  “functional, multilateral rules-based system” to flourish.

Along with welcoming the prospect of Joe Biden as a “friend in the White House”, von der Leyen noted that the two transatlantic partners would work to draft a “new rulebook for the digital economy and the digital society.”

“The need for global cooperation and this acceleration of change with both be drivers of the Great Reset. And I see this as an unprecedented opportunity,” the head of the EU’s executive branch said.

'Normal wasn't working' - John Kerry, Phillip Atiba Goff and others on the new social contract post-COVID

https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2020/06/great-reset-social-contract-john-kerry-phillip-goff/

  John Kerry

“Normal was a crisis; normal wasn’t working,” said former US secretary of state John Kerry in his opening remarks. “We must not think of it in terms of pushing a button and going back to the way things were. We’re a long way off from being able to go back to any kind of normal.”

The responsibility will lie with governments, the “great convener”, Kerry said. “Forces and pressures that were pushing us into crisis over the social contract are now exacerbated,” he said. “The world is coming apart, dangerously, in terms of global institutions and leadership.”

“What we never did was adequately address the social contract, the franchisement of human beings around the world, to be able to participate in things they can see with their smartphones everywhere but can’t participate in.”

Explaining that the United States of America is currently "gridlocked", Kerry said: “This is a big moment. The World Economic Forum - the CEO capacity of the Forum - is really going to have to play a front and centre role in refining the Great Reset to deal with climate change and inequity - all of which is being laid bare as a consequence of COVID-19."

I made the post at that thread before finding out that "Great Reset" Kerry was going to be leading the US's climate policy.

The Climate Accord and Great Reset are exactly about the same things.

The Climate Accord has nothing to do with the climate.

I recognized that there was no climate crisis 20+ years ago(after mostly believing in it previous to 2000, then doing my own research as an atmospheric scientist).

For the life of me, for several years after 2000, I could not understand what the heck was going on. There had to be a dang good reason that climate science was hijacked and that they even rewrote climate history(to wipe out the Medieval Warm Period).

Additional researching and learning yielded the answers. This cause is more powerful than anyone appreciates except for the gatekeepers at the top.

It's the biggest scientific scandal in human history and biggest brainwash of the planets people in history.......by a wide margin.

It looks like we just elected a person that is going to prove me 100% accurate on it.

Again, I've been posting on it for years. With Kerry and the US leading the way............here is comes.

I don't agree with everything in the editorial below but post it because there are some excellent points that relate to the new world order and cultural revolution that the new administration apparently subscribes to based on them leading the way with the Climate Accord designed to impose it.

The Green New Deal will also do nothing to affect the climate but will fundamentally change the economic model because it's completely dependant on our energy supplies as its lifeblood.

I can't repeat this enough. The Climate Accord is not about the climate. It's about imposing global socialism with the United Nations as our Mommy and Daddy.

America’s Critical Point in Time

The decades-long communist assault on America is reaching a climax

https://www.theepochtimes.com/americas-critical-point-in-time_3593545.html?utm_source=newsnoe&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=breaking-2020-11-25-3

All around the world, socialist and communist movements have taken advantage of economic unrest and the pandemic to edge themselves into positions of influence, with the eventual goal of overthrowing the existing social order.

We are now seeing the same playing out in America.

The United States has gone far along with the socialist ideology. Mainstream media champion the ideas of equality and follow the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP’s) attacks on America. Our younger generations have come to view socialism favorably and are among the most fevered in taking part in protests and riots aimed at destroying our cultural heritage.

Meanwhile, society at large has come to support the idea that the government should provide health care, education, and perhaps eventually the cost of living. Knowingly and unknowingly, we are gradually trading our freedoms for a system that controls people.

Socialism and communism claim full ownership over all property and human beings. Socialism demands people give up their belief in God and instead take the state as God.

The nation that stands to gain the most from this is China, where the CCP has ruled brutally for more than 70 years, resulting in the unnatural deaths of at least 65 million people.

For communist China, the United States has always stood in the way of the communists’ objective of global control. The communist regime’s goal has always been to overthrow the United States and become the dominant power in the world.

For decades, it has worked toward this objective, and it is now close to attaining it.

Its methods of subversion are sophisticated and run deep. FBI Director Christopher Wray said in July that the agency has nearly 2,500 open counterintelligence investigations related to China and that the agency opens a new one about every 10 hours.
