Stimulus bill

I have a question which might belong some other place so I will let MM decide

Is this 600 or 2000 a one time payment with attached requirements which I don't even begin to understand

IMHO neither amount will do enough for people with diminished unemployment checks or many that have no visible means of income

If your shop is shut down, what do you do for food and other essential items for a house hold.

This whole thing caused by lock down, unemployment, Mom and Pop going BK etc is such a mess I really don't have an answer other than Basic Universal Income and then what is the amount. We are doing a trial run in Canada so I heard on the TV but not much has been said about BUI, in Canada

Can the gov't just  print money for people to live on. I think some body estimated an increase to 2000 would cost the gov't 463 billion extra

And yet they spend on pork which does nothing for the citizens of america,  [unless you own race horses]with money going abroad, which most suspect will be skimmed by the leaders of foreign countries

So how does congress tell the people they get crumbs if they are lucky and foreign countries get billions

Would you not think americians come 1st when money is needed.

I suppose when Biden gets in the WH and Georgia elects Dems then you will all have money to spend and jobs to no end, with money left over to save the planet from a climate crisis.

A 30 trillion deficit will happen so quickly then on to 40 trillion deficit. Does it really matter if we have haves and have nots??? plus an out of control deficit

If you have a stk portfolio, no debts, which we do, the dividends alone can buy a lot of food. All the extra income is what separates our family from the have nots

I doubt anybody on the forum lives in a tent so how can we understand the problems of those with nothing

We have no understanding of 600 vs 2000. I think such an understanding is impossible but congress, who have not missed one pay check, will decide the present and future of millions of people with no understanding of what their vote means

So back to my question. Is this a one time payment and then what does congress do??? Run up the deficit or let the people live in tents like a 3rd world country and line up for a food hand out??? You know like all those pictures we have seen of foreign countries but now we will see it in our country. We have people with no income in Canada,

Perhaps my question should have been

Given that many will eventually be evicted, the empty house or apt may not find new renters, given the amount of empty office space, hotels etc that will be empty, Mom and Pop shops that will be empty, 30 some big name chain stores will be empty in NYC alone

How many will be forced to live in tents?? and hope the food bank does not run out of food, while all this space sits empty

Does that not make you sort of wonder who is running the country and the fact they don't have a clue about what could be done

Thanks Wayne,

The country is broken and run by people that care most about getting power and personal enrichment or their own belief systems/agenda.

We are in the early stages of a cultural revolution and socialism is part of that. The Climate Accord has nothing to do with the climate and is all about Global socialism, redistribution of global resources and sustainable development. The Green New Deal will have zero affect on the climate.

You won't recognize our country in 10 years.............but that's the objective.

We keep hearing from the climate crisis people that we have until 2030 to save the planet from the climate crisis. We are having a climate optimum, they use the year 2030 for the well documented objective below.

How certain am I of this?

100%!

Guess the question comes down to...   Is the direction of this country still in the hands of "We the People", and do enough understand what may happen?

If the answer to both is yes,   then MM's scenario will not take place.

I am not certain on either.
