In Long Beach, CA, a city ordinance required grocery stores to give their workers an extra $4/hour, to compensate for their Covid risk exposure during the last few months.
This is obviously a nice thought. However, Ralphs and Kroger supermarkets were already financially struggling in this area. This ordinance is now forcing them to close 25% of their stores.
