Soil temps have gone backwards over the last week in top #corn producer Iowa. I don't remember the ideal soil temp for starting, but I know that people can tell me below :) Are you in Iowa? Have you started planting?

U.S. #corn was 8% planted as of Sunday, equal to the 5yr avg but 1 pt below trade expectations.

 #Soybeans were 3% planted. Spring

#wheat 19% planted, ahead of both expectations and average.

Winter wheat conditions stayed at 53% good/exc but heading is a bit behind.Image

U.S. #corn planting is exactly in line with average so far (so much that it's actually hard to see in this chart). Don't forget that 2019's historically late planting season drags down the 5yr avg later on. I show both 2014-2018 and 2016-2020 avg here for reference.
