This could be a good alternative to "Defunding" the police.

Lawerenceville is a short drive from my home   Beautiful old southern town that is starting to see some problems.  I can see some potential problems with untrained civilians in potentially dangerous situations,  but this is certainly worth a try.

I'll be watching closely and if you like,  I can give updates when available.

Lawrenceville police could soon be joined by mental health clinicians on certain calls (fox5atlanta.com)

"The city of Lawrenceville is considering an agreement with View Point Health Clinic for what is called a "co-responder" program.

Two mental health clinicians would work with officers and go on mental health-related calls.

The Lawrenceville Police Department sees a large volume of mental health-related calls. So far this year, it has received about 150 to 180 mental health-related calls."

This is great Tim!

Please do give us updates. It's a huge step in the right direction. They may not be able to use it all the time but working in tandem with mental health experts can help with the training of ALL cops.
