So what have we all learned from it?

I learned to listen closer to people from the other political side. I assumed(wrongly) that joj and WxFollower were exaggerating about something that could never happen when they posted about the dangers that Trump posed to the Constitution if he lost.

They hit the target dead center/bullseye about how Trump would react. I figured he would react very badly but never imagined this.  Trump and his enablers/supporters response  was more than 100 times greater than anything I could conceive before the election.

Until now, we never fully recognized these 2 posters but these threads below will get put into the forum Library as "posts of the decade". I don't have WxFollowers specific comments but recall that he also warned of the same thing.

This event.........by a very wide margin was the most organized attempt to do the most damage possible to the most cherished element in our Constitution........overturning the presidential  election results and will of the people using blatant fraud!

Constitutional Crisis?  (Trade related?)

Trump will pull all the stops to stop the vote count:

I was more concerned about how THE PEOPLE would react if Trump won..

More protesting and rioting for sure I assumed(and that likely would have happened), but no doubt, Biden would have followed the Constitution and conceded based on the proven vote totals. Biden may be over the hill and struggling but there is no amount of damage that he could ever do that's even in the ballpark for what Trump tried to do.

Just because you voted for and/or wish Trump was president does not make that statement and less profoundly TRUE.

It's funny to look back now at my greatest concerns for our country just before the election..........about what the left might do if Trump won.

             I will vote for Biden

But experiences and events cause those that want to learn from them.........to grow and understand history better. Understand people better. Understand politics better. Understand science and EVERYTHING better.

We are all in different places in our lives with different families, and political beliefs, different accomplishments and so on.

But we all have the exact same choice every day from wherever we are..........whoever we are.

Do we want to grow in authentic knowledge and move forward with that knowledge in a positive way with open minds allowing enrichment?

Or do we want to just recirculate the same old things in a closed mind? Or let other people control our minds?

500 years ago, when people struggled to survive it was acceptable to not spend much time enriching themselves with cerebral activities.

Finding sufficient food and shelter for them and their families was usually top priority.

Even 150 years ago, Kings and Queens didn't have it as good with technology and educational opportunities as the poor in our country have it today.

Today, in this age of human history its so much different than that.

We have the opportunity to access information which is millions of times greater than what our ancestors had. No exaggeration........MILLIONS at our finger tips or on our computers every day, then before the internet. Possibly BILLIONS in many cases.

We are wasting our potential by not tapping into at least some of that.

Sadly, there are entities that use the same powerful tools to try to steal our intelligence for their self serving interests. For money, or power or politics. Previously known as propaganda, then more recently fake news and there are other terms.

Following this information actually makes you DUMBER! Many millions of people love to pass this sort of news/info on.

Everyone wants to be smarter NOT dumber.

But they also want to keep believing in what they already believe and listen only to information that tells them to keep believing the same old, sometimes wrong things or worse things.

To maximize today's world of educational and mind enlightening opportunities, one MUST HAVE an open mind that lets new information in.

Not only do we have the individual right as a human being in 2021 to know the truth but we have the right and freedom to use that truth to make smart choices based on objective science and facts that are not twisted by a political ideology to mislead us.

Regardless, even with the nafarious entities out there, we still live in the most wonderful age to be a human being by a wide margin and even the most brainwashed in 2021..........STILL HAVE IT MUCH BETTER than the most enlightened did 100 years ago!

We all remember the riots and destruction of property, loss of people's life time work building a biz, many going BK with destruction of biz assets etc.

Why did this destruction stop immediately after the election???

How would you like it if a mob burned down your house. Most insur policies I have read do not cover loss due to riot

move along Wayne, those were all peaceful protests and not a building, business or person was harmed in any way. Only Trump hurt, nothing else.

In essence, nobody learned anything.

Side 1: Claims side 2 is the side that did all the damage......from the get go and when their side (side one) rioted, side 1 went into denial mode and wants everybody to focus entirely on the greater property and human life damage of side 2, while totally ignoring the Constitutional damage, key location and threats as well as the source and continuation of the same mentality by that group, that went with the MUCH smaller property and loss of life damage done by side 1. They want us to believe the Insurrection was similar to a large group of rowdy site seers/tourists that got out of control.

Side 2: Ignored the massive property and human life losses as well as enabling the riots under the guise of tricking people into thinking it was ok because it was for a just cause( after a black man was killed by a cop) and ignored the fact that it was a COVID spreader........when it should have been vehemently condemned and stamped out, not condoned or met with silence. The rioting in truth, was more about the cultural revolution and revolting against Trump and his belief system.  This side totally focuses on the insurrection, an extremely significant event that has the consequences mentioned above and should not be brushed off but side 2  is in complete denial about their long lived Summer 2020 rioting.

Both sides are totally hypocritical and taking no blame for what they did wrong and completely focused on using things the other side did wrong for their political agenda.

Here are some previous threads/posts on this. Some of the links are in the middle of the thread and you can scroll up or down from there but I'm too busy this morning to try to perfect the links.
