Harvest of U.S. #corn and #soybeans advanced slowly last week. Corn progress is still ahead of average but soybeans have slipped behind. Sorghum harvest is ahead but cotton is behind. Winter #wheat conditions slip 1 pt to 45% good/exc (close to last year).

45% good/excellent for Oct. 31 winter #wheat conditions is the fourth worst for the date, though it isn't terribly far off the 5-year average of 52%. Last year was worse at 43%, worst was 40% in 2012. Top grower Kansas is 62% good/exc.

21% of U.S. winter #wheat is rated in poor/very poor health as of October 31, the worst ever for the date. Oregon, Montana, Texas, Colorado, Washington and South Dakota are the leaders of the tough conditions.
