 I was originally looking for only one word. 

The "N" in aircraft registration numbers is a country designation - this case United States- pretty sure. And its sometimes referred to as a "N" number.

But that is not relevant here. The anticipation is killing me Wx.

 Thanks for all guesses to this point. I haven't forgotten about this. I've been out of pocket and will respond as soon as I get some more time. 

 Any other guesses?

I actually thought more about it and still can only come up with "numbers" or a derivation of it, like numerals.

Also naturals......a type of number.
