Sept. 12: CBOT Nov #soybeans surge 76 cents per bushel (5.4%) after USDA's forecast of the U.S. crop fell far short of expectations. The contract ended at $14.88-1/4 (highest settle since June 21) after reaching the highest price since June 30 ($14.90-1/4).
CBOT Dec #corn topped out at $6.99-1/2 per bu on Monday, its highest since June 22. The settle of $6.96 is up 24% from the July 22 low and is 34% higher than on the same day a year ago. USDA's corn forecast came in near expectations.
