Last week was big for U.S. #wheat inspections - destinations were plentiful with Mexico on top. #Soybeans disappointed (just two cargoes to China) and #corn was meh (also two cargoes to China).

USDA is expected to release U.S. export sales on Thursday Sept. 15. Here's how they said it would work: Weeks of Aug. 18 & 25 combined into 1 report, then Sept. 1 & 8 will be released separately. So three sets of data. Here's the trade estimates for the four weeks covered:

#China keeps its 22/23 import forecast for #corn & #soybeans unchanged from last month 

Corn seen at 18 mmt vs 20 mmt in 21/22 and 29.6 mmt in 20/21

Soy stays at 95 mmt vs 91 mmt in 21/22 and 99.8 mmt in 20/21 (USDA 22/23: corn 18 mmt, soy 97 mmt)

It's unclear whether Russian ammonia was exported out of Ukraine's ports prior to the invasion. Someone fill me in - I'm not an expert on this. If this is something new, seems like using Ukraine's ports to export Russian product would be controversial at minimum.

The U.N. is trying to restart Russian ammonia exports through Ukraine's Black Sea ports, and the pipeline in question can pump up to 2.5 mmt of ammonia/year. Incentivizing Russia to stick to the grain export deal appears at least a partial motive here.
