I will bet that the first Winter wheat crop rating next week will come in extremely low!

+++++++++++++

@kannbwx

U.S. #corn was 61% harvested and #soybeans 80% complete as of Sunday, both ahead of normal. #Cotton and #sorghum progress also quicker than usual. Winter #wheat is 49% emerged - first conditions of the season will be published next week.

Looking at harvest pace versus prior years.... certainly wouldn't be the original expectation considering how slow planting was - particularly for corn.

@kannbwx

Harvest of U.S. #soybeans isn't lagging in any of the top states. Ohio, Louisiana and Illinois (#1 grower) are the slowest versus average, and western states are again leading the effort.

U.S. #corn harvest is most advanced versus the five-year average in western states, where it has been very dry in recent weeks/months. Not as much the case for eastern areas, though only a couple states are considerably lagging.

Mike, which contract do you think will be more affected, Chicago or Kansas?

becker,

I would think the HRW/Kansas City wheat crop will have the worst conditions. The rains this week helped a great deal in some places but missed others.

I'll guess that KS/NE/SD will have some of the worst ratings.

From Wednesday @kannbwx

With 3 trading days left in the month, U.S. #corn harvest price is up 16% from the February projection and #soybeans are down 4%. Versus the 2021 harvest prices, corn is up 28% and beans are up 12%. Both are easily the highest since 2012.
