You got eggs for 99 cents and milk for less than 2$ in 2020?  Lucky you!!!  I haven't seen those prices in decades.  I currently pay over 5$ for a dozen eggs and $4.99 for a half gallons of milk.

EGGS $0.99  NOW $3.09

MILK  $1.29  NOW $3.59

EGGS. Was getting jumbo eggs at Walmart for $0.69 and Meyers for $0.99. I know it seems crazy but the price lasted for well over a year and I assumed they must have had a glut of egg supply. NOW at $2.89 for large

MILK: Was paying $0.99 at Meyers for over 2 years-way cheaper than any place else- NOW at $2.58 for a gallon

The Meyer brand of milk that was $0.99 would ALWAYS  go bad within 10 days and often before the expiration date. This happened a dozen times. I literally put it in the freezer for a couple of hours several times in that period to get it to last longer.

Not sure why but all other brands of milk will always last beyond the expiration date in our cold fridge.

here is one item that has shown no inflation yet.  the local car wash.  took 5 quarters 4 years ago.  and still takes 5 quarters in 2022 ... (self wash).

maybe i gave this example before...

i pollinate for a guy that has a 5 acre organic garden.  always before he bought seeds by the pound.  (whether carrot seeds, or squash, or tomato, or melons, etc).

but this year, the supplier is now selling those seeds  PER SEED, rather than per pound.  so, some may be 7 cents per seed, or 8 cents per seed. etc.  so he carefully counts how many he plans to plant, and orders that much. no more.

yes, the price of all his produce has gone up , what he sells for to the public at farmers markets.  and there seems to be no drop in demand for his produce, even at higher prices.
