Georgia and TCU barely eek out wins and will play each other for the National championship!
I have Buckeye fans in the family and I was pulling for my Clemson rival Dawgs.
Didnt make it past half time and now I'll be looking for some re-caps.
Prit'near no more predictable than the markets!
Holy crimes sakes!!
I just read a recap of the Georgia game!
Now on to the TCU recap.
Mike, that upset must have broken your heart. When did the Wolverines last make it to the championship?
They are always awesome in my mind!
Thanks john!
Sorry your Tigers team took it on the chin )-:
The Wolverines gave it their best effort but TCU came out on top. Making it into the championships for the first time is something to be grateful for.
I started the season by driving 8 hours to Ann Arbor to watch Michigan's first game with my awesome son in law and grandsons, so this season was very special for us.
Interesting piece of trivia. At that game, Michigan played their 305th consecutive game with an attendance of 100,000+.
Their streak began near the end of the 1975 season.
My first Michigan game, just after enrolling at U of M was on Sept. 11, 1976 beating Wisconsin, 40-27. That was the 3rd game in that consecutive games of 100,000+ streak of 305 games!
+++++++++++++
After the game, we went to see my 97 year old Dad. My 12 year old grandson was playing Dad(his great grandpa) in chess and my sister that lives in Detroit was in on a group shot.
The last pix was my Dad during WW-2.
Sorry, for some reason the images that I copied are gone.
I'll need to do it a different way for them to be permanent.
This amazing multiscreen of the OSU FG attempt shows that the ball was kicked with 3 seconds left in 2022 and was called wide left right at the stroke of midnight, 2023!! This is a movie waiting to be made with the script already written. I'm saying this even though I'm not even a UGA fan. Truth stranger than fiction:
Thanks, Larry!
Extremely interesting that you brought that up.
I was over my daughter/son in laws with a couple of other people watching the UM, then OSU game.
They really wanted to watch the ball drop more than see the field goal attempt and were going back and forth in the last minute before the ball dropped, hoping one would happen first so we could watch it, then switch to the other one and leave it on that channel.
So we had to leave it on the ball dropping with 5 seconds left to not miss that.
Then they messed up and couldn't get the football game for a minute and we saw the score and knew what happened but never saw the missed field goal.
I was the only one rooting for Ohio State (that surprised most people at their strength) but congrats to Georgia.
