GOP governor says Greene’s call for ‘a national divorce’ is ‘evil’

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox(R) on Monday hit back at Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’scalls for a “national divorce” of Republican and Democratic states, saying the lawmaker’s rhetoric is “evil.”

Greene on Monday suggested the U.S. “separate by red states and blue states and shrink the federal government,” re-upping her suggestion of a “divorce” to solve the nation’s division. Cox countered that the country needs “marriage counseling” instead.

“This rhetoric is destructive and wrong and—honestly—evil. We don’t need a divorce, we need marriage counseling. And we need elected leaders that don’t profit by tearing us apart. We can disagree without hate. Healthy conflict was critical to our nation’s founding and survival,” Cox wrote on Twitter.

The scary thing is how this whack job gets so much support for absurd ideas.

Instead of 2 extreme sides trying to balance each other out, we would have no balance and each side would be able to go to their extreme limit with disastrous consequences. What a completely retarded idea. Abraham Lincoln is rolling over in his grave.

She would love a nation split for her own personal agenda. She might be able run for president  or even better be Trump's VP.

Last time I checked, each state has the right to secede from the union. Anyone who knows American history knows how well that went the last time it was tried/done (civil war anyone?).

Going as far as forceably breaking up the country along political lines, ie red vs blue states, has so many logistical issues it's not funny. Consider that both coasts are, for all intents and purposes, mostly all blue states. The majority of red states are in central USA and even then there are blue states in the center of the USA.

So what happens then? You have 2 new counties formed from the dissolution of one, but these two countries are fragmented. The Red country is more or less contiguous, but what about Alaska up by itself. Blue country is two coastlines with some isolated land in the middle surrounded by Red country.

And what does it do to economy? What about money? It takes time to setup new governments, draft new constitutions (if such a document is desired, maybe the blues would rather have a monarchy).

Lastly, and perhaps the biggest issues, what happens to the military? Does that get split up? What about the nuclear arsenal?

It also sends a terrible message to every country in the world, especially NATO. And speaking of NATO, would either of these new countries be members?

This person is speaking from a point of emotion and frustration and has clearly not thought this through. The country needs counseling for sure.

Thanks MM and jean.

The right has some wonderful ideas and some of their agenda is better than the left.

Some of Green's agenda overlaps with good ideas from the Rs, mixed in with insanity like this.

As a result, she damages the right when she stands up for bad AS WELL AS GOOD ideas .

That's one reason that I cringed from the get go when Trump rambled on about the climate crisis being a scam made up by China.  He makes the ones that understand the science and evidence for why it's a manufactured crisis look bad.

In other words, we all want credible people to represent the ideas which support our belief system.

Not loud mouthed, hate filled idiots that are not just counterproductive to any discussion but are damaging to good causes that they endorse using these tactics.
