First really bad inspections number for U.S. #soybeans in a while - volume is well below average for the date after a streak of very strong numbers. #Wheat inspections were above average and expectations. No improvement in the #corn volumes.

As always, a closer look at the numbers in context (two views shown for soybeans). Question is, is this one bad week for beans? Will next week's number rebound? Or is the elevated streak completely over? Also, will corn ever find life?

Imea expects 20% of Mato Grosso's #corn will be sown outside the ideal window. Mato Grosso is #Brazil's largest corn and soy grower, and yields there are increasingly at risk with untimely planting. May be no problem as long as dry season doesn't start early.

#Ukraine's winter crops have not been damaged by cold weather this winter. Still, a smaller #wheat crop this year versus last is likely due to a lower planted area (3.8M hectares in 2023 vs 6M+ in 2022 with 4.9M harvested).
